Great atmosphere and excellent service. Love that they have a Happy Hour but the food was definitely subpar.

District 36 is one of our favorites. The food is always good and the staff is always friendly. We love that we can pop in for a late lunch /early dinner at 4:00 and they will be open. We love sitting in the bar, very relaxing.

Went for a birthday outing so 10 in our group. Came in at 630 for our reservation, seated right away and took our orders pretty quickly which was nice. I've been here before and agreed it's a nice place for a dinner.Took about an hour and a half to get the food though which seemed out of the norm. Unfortunately everyone who ordered steak got cold steaks. Not super impressed with that. The pasta wasn't impressive, and the chicken had a weird after taste. I made it through maybe half my steak sorry just couldn't do it cold lol. One out of the 10 people in our group actually liked their food so A+ for that. Another person couldnt eat theirs at all so it just got tossed unfortunately. The waiter was friendly, though she couldn't really do anything about it besides offer a discount initially (the manager ended up turning that down because people still ate some of it.)Which, okay fine but if when you're spending 50-60$ a plate with an automatic 20% gratuity added, you just expect a little more. I've never seen a group of younger people actually openly admit when the food is bad. Usually they just deal with it because they don't wanna look like angry old people. On that note.. impressive. Birthday person was pretty upset and felt bad inviting people here. She chose this place because it looked super nice and I told her I'd been here before and it was pleasant. I've asked others about this place and it seems quality must be declining. Then I read some of the more recent reviews and realized it's not just our experience, but multiple others. Did a chef leave?Really hope this place can turn around some like it was on my previous visits. It's not an awful place, the quality is just lacking and management didn't really seem to want to do anything for it. I know our friend group isn't the type to come in every weekend and spend that $100 a plate, but I don't see us ever coming here for a special event again. Also I didn't ask to reheat my steak because 1. Reheated steak is depressing2. It already took 1.5 hours to get the food, I didn't want to wait another 15 minutes lolOn the plus side I did get some Key lime pie and it was just as good as the times I've had it before so keep that up lol

Service was okay. Seafood pasta was very over cooked and the Alfredo sauce tasted off. Took over an hour to even receive appetizers, and when the food actually came it was cold. Very dissapointed overall.

First time there. Drove from Norwalk for a family celebration and it was worth the drive. I had the District 36 salmon, which was unique. Excellent flavor, not overcooked & can't wait to go back. My wife had the chicken parm and was also pleased. Others in the party were very pleased with their selections. I opted for the seafood bisque which also excellent, even though I wished the bowl was bigger. The service was excellent & plentiful. One main waitress had several helpers to bring the food to the table which was well timed. The room was spacious and tables were spaced apart which was appreciated as there was birthday party with kids nearby. They were enjoying each other a lot. We will be going back again.

I ordered the Cod entree which indicates on the menu that you get to select one side. I ordered the sweet potato fries as the side with a $1 upcharge. The meal arrived without fries, and when I asked where they were I was told point blank "you never ordered fries." I indicated that I did order sweet potato fries as the side, and they replied that my meal doesn't come with a side, and refused to bring my fries, even though the menu clearly states that it comes with a side. This place has ZERO class.

The food was medicore at best. The restaurant seemed dirty, there were 3 or 4 Nats swirling around our table (and it’s 0 degrees in January so not sure how they are still alive?). I ordered a blue moon and was served an IPA with an orange. The wine flight is a joke, only includes limited options / house wines. Will not return.

We went there for New Year's Eve. Our steaks were very good. Our server Ella was very good. When you want to treat yourself to a good dinner, I recommend District 36.

We went for dinner on New Year's Eve. They had a very limited menu, and the prices seemed very high for the quality of the food. Some of our food seemed as though it had all been prepped earlier and reheated, and did not meet our expectations. The wait staff was friendly and kind, but overall, we were disappointed.

This is a nice place, got seated quickly...its very pricey for what you get, its a great location, in Ankeny Iowa. Food was Ok....but the menu was very very hard to read. My eyes are almost 20/20 & I could not read the description.. Would I go back and get a piece of cod for $20.00+- nope.
