I shopped at the Hy-Vee on Ankeny Boulevard today. It was a disaster. The majority of the products were being moved from one area to another area. I couldn't find what I was looking for in the normal space so I ended up asking for help five times to find a particular product! There were so many workers in some of the isles that I had to back my car out of an aisle to another one. I'm not sure who's decision it is to move products, but it's a definite negative for us as a customer. We save time by knowing what product we want, where it is and putting it in our cart.

Used the pharmacy here for years, but just had to transfer all prescriptions because I could not deal with the lack of knowledge and communication. They've become the slowest pharmacy in town. The prices are usually highest here too compared with other pharmacy/retail chains. Good riddance.

Love the food options when I'm on the road. Fresh salads and fruit are typically what I purchase but they have hot meals such as fried chicken, meatloaf and Asian. Whatever suits you. When I'm on the road this is cheaper than dining out.

Your pharmacy is the absolute worst! You should not allow customers to sit in the drive-through and wait 30 minutes for their order to be done. Tell them to come back in 30 minutes. It's not fair to the other people in line that cannot get out because of how your drive-through pharmacy is set up to have to wait because the person in front of them didn't do a good job of waiting for a text message to let them know their prescription was ready. Get it together. I have officially been sitting here for almost 45 minutes and can't move.

Every time I have ordered food at their hot food area I have been satisfied with the hot products and the cold products. I have asked them a couple times to add more or just ask for the hot items without sides. They have accommodated all my requests with a smile. I just want to thank them for going out of their way to please a customer. I would recommend them to anyone that needs a quick meal with enough varieties to please you and your family

Grocery pick up service is very good. I seldom find poorly chosen produce or other fresh products. They must be checking expiration dates like I do! We are in communication by text while they are shopping my order suggesting substitutions. They are Friendly careful handling bags into my car. This service saves me a lot of time trying to find everything. Thank you!!

This grocery store is Amazing. Huge selection, they have it ALL, The butcher dept has a great selection of ready to cook (cut, seasoned / stuffed) pork chops, chicken breasts, twice-baked potatoes, stuffed mushroom caps, stuffed peppers and much more, they have it all !!! Great prices too !!! Clean store & very nice staff. I'll be going there exclusively for the next 4 months while I'm here in town. Joe Sal Chicago IL.

Do NOT go here for a flu vaccine. The women they have giving them are untrained and spiteful. I've never had a shot administered the way one was given here. The nurse held it in her fist and jabbed hard. I'm afraid I might have shoulder complications now, and if I do I will be suing. Great job hyvee.

The meat department here is the only saving grace, as long as the in store picker isn't in front of you shopping for someone too lazy to come into the store to do their own shopping! I find it annoying and poor customer service that they don't prioritize customers that are in the store over people who order online! But I have to wait behind a Hy-Vee employee picking an order for 10 people and sometimes that takes a long time. And no, they never say, "oh, it's just you and you only need one thing, go ahead!" Nope, it's always, "let me fulfill these 10 orders with extremely intricate details before I get out of your way, thanks for coming into the store during a pandemic though!" But that's about the temperature of customer service around the rest of the store anyway. Ever before the pandemic. I really only shop there for fuel saver points, but the last few times I spent over $150 and didn't get 1 cent in fuel saver rewards has really made me want to save money and take my business elsewhere. Just maybe come in and hold my breath and wait in line for the meat department. Next time I'm in there I'll take a picture, it never fails that when I'm there to get meat I have to wait behind the aisles online order picker!

Any time I'm in Ankeny, I try to pick up groceries at this Hy-Vee. It is always clean, stocked well, and the employees are polite. The wine and spirits section has a good choice of everything that you could want, especially seltzers. This is one of the Hy-Vees that seem to have gone towards expanding their offerings, but hasn't hit the levels other have with nail salons and shoe stores, for which I'm very thankful. I don't need it to be a "one stop shop". Focus on what you supply and supply it well and that's what I want.

Missed out on breakfast at the hotel I was staying at so ran here for a donut to start the day. The store seemed clean and lots of checkers available. Walked through the Wine and Spirits. Seems like the seltzers have officially taken over. They also had a growler and crowler station behind check out for beer-to-go. The donuts were good but seemed a little expensive ($1.50 for fried cinnamon rolls or apple fritters). All in all a good experience.

Honestly, this Hy-Vee and their Aisles Online has been so valuable to us this year. Trying to play it safe, it became hugely important and valuable to use to have this service during a pandemic, but also I've found that it saves me the time and headache of having to maneuver through the store when busy. Sometimes my aisles online orders get shopped a little "funny" (they'll be out of all tortilla chips, for instance (no, they're not)), but overall I am so thankful and I keep coming back. Plus, everyone there is so nice. When I moved back to Iowa four years ago and went into Hy-Vee for the first time since I was little, I felt like I was in heaven. Coming from Chicago, I could not believe how nice and helpful everyone was. Hy-Vee for life!

Produce used to be nice and fresh. Now for the past year, you have to dig through rotten peppers that are overpriced. Multiple Hyvees have declined in quality meanwhile fareway is advancing.

Sad to say but Hy-Vee produce over the last couple month is probably the worst on the market. Don't recognize the brands anymore and the quality is very poor. Whole Foods and even Fareway have continued to provide us with a great product. For the obvious price premium you pay to shop at Hy-Vee as a whole this should never be the case. Feels like they are trying to do to many new things and are certainly losing site of what they have always been good at.

I ordered a shrimp roll that was supposed to be prepared hot and served fresh. I waited 45 minutes in the lot for it. I called and they called back before grabbing a cold one off the shelf and sending it out. Plus they charged $2 more for ordering it through the meals app. I could have gone into the store and grabbed a cold one if I wasn't paying for a hot made fresh one that they substituted with a cold one.
