“I've got ice cream here before but this was the first time we sat and had a meal here. We came for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Fast and friendly service, they were busy but not packed, very good food and it came out to us in less time than I expected. I will definitely be going for breakfast again and can't wait to try other menu items! I got the Eggs Grandpa and he had eggs hashbrowns and sausage patties. Here is what we couldn't finish!”

“It is rare to find a place with so many of my favorite things. River Ridge Brewing in Bellevue, Iowa checks all of my boxes. My wife and I were coming out to Dubuque, Iowa, and we were looking for a place with beer, food, and a view of the Mississippi River. Our Google search led us to try River Ridge Brewing, and we were amazed. As we pull up to the brewery, the Mississippi River is a stone throw away. Check one of my requirements. As we entered into the brewery, we walked down some stairs to a room with a large bank of windows looking out at the river. We are greeted by the beer tender as if we had been there before and were one of their favorite patrons. The beer list is a combination of core beers with some that rotate. In addition, we were offered local wine and cider. The beer list had a nice variety of styles, not just one style dominating the list like some breweries today. Check off my second requirement. Asking about food, we were given a menu. Sone breweries simply point to a track of chips or tell you to order next door. The menu listed pretzel bites, which offered seven different flavors and dipping sauces for the pretzels. The second section of the menu listed "Massive Pretzels." This had nine different pretzels, which were about 12 to 16 inches across, with special toppings. We ordered the Honey, Ham, and Swiss. Our pretzel came with a buttery glaze, topped with slices of ham and Swiss cheese with a drizzle of honey. For dipping, we were given beer cheese sauces. It was delicious and so big. My wife and I couldn't eat the whole thing. Check off the third requirement. We took our beer and food outside. The brewery has a great patio with many tables and chairs. We say to enjoy our food and drink while watching the lock and dam on the river with white pelicans and bald eagles soaring around the area. River Ridge Brewing is a must stop if you are looking for great service, good beer, delicious food, and fantastic scenery.”

“Great small-town Mexican Restaurant! The staff is very friendly, the location (on the Mississippi) is beautiful, and the food is fantastic as well as reasonably priced.”

“Very clean and sanitized regularly. They just started allowing indoor dining. Try the pizza sub, it is so good and my mouth is watering as I'm thinking about it.”

“The prime rib was very good and priced reasonable. The deserts are incredible and the waitress was very nice. Had to wait awhile to get seated but it was pretty busy so understandable.”

“Burger was top 10 in Iowa in 2023. Pizza is a great choice here, nice and crispy. Also love the grilled shrimp on Saturday nights with salad bar. You can ask for melted butter with it. Hashbrowns with cheese and onion are phenomenal. Garlic parm wings are great too! Combo baskets are sizeable. If you’re looking for frills, this isn’t the place but if you’re looking for a burger and beer (or soda) this is a good local spot that’s been around for years.”

“Cash or local checks only at Bootleggers. They don’t take plastic. This is a fun local bar with a great Saturday bartender. Four of us stopped in on a Saturday really liked the place. If you’re not a twenty something that needs a ten dollar craft beer to match your cuffed jeans and perfectly clean work boots, Bootleggers is exactly what you want from a bar. Once upon a time people went to establishments to listen to music on a jukebox and drink from a well among good company, and that's exactly what you're getting here. Stop in, get comfortable and maybe make a new friend.”

“Beautiful place for a sunset dinner. I always try to eat outside for the view. My favorite is the Margherita pizza on a cauliflower crust. I've never found a better cauliflower crust.”
