We used to love this place, so I took family who’d never been. I told the counter lady that I’d like to order take out & she said “oh” & just walked off & never came back, so I stood there waiting until I left & had to call in my order. Our take out food didn’t turn out well, so I contacted management. He acknowledged they were having a bad day, said he’d send a coupon, but never did. There were lots of employees & hardly any customers, so I don’t know what the problem was. I won’t be returning.

We ordered burgers and tenderloins for the family with onion rings for a side. We were not disappointed as the burgers were made perfect and the rings were crispy and tastey.

I was with a group for lunch & it was quite busy. Our server was very friendly and helped us as quickly as she could. Tenderloin and onion rings were very tasty. The rest of the group seemed to enjoy their orders as well.

This was our second visit. Just a couple of minutes North of I 80 at Altoona exit. This cafe is in the small town independent grocery and both are done right. The tenderloin is huge and very good. My spouse and I split one and still had plenty. After the meal look at the in house baked goods for sale independenggrocery and both a

I live close and gave it a lot of chances but the food is either served cold, greasy or the grease needs changed. I let it go the 1st couple times due to we all have a bad day now and then, right? finally gave up after the last few tips were disappointing.

The sidewinder fries are good. The rest of the food is ok and a bit overpriced. Not many options in Bondurant and this is a grocery store with other outings.

I have been a customer since October 2017, one of the things that I have learned is that the kitchen is serious about cutting off breakfasts at 10:30 AM. Today I arrived just before 10;20, the only other customers in the cafe were members of a large group, seated in the center at a group of tables pushed together. I took a seat at a booth, a Server walked past my booth, without acknowledging me, a simple "I will be with you shortly" would have been polite. Shortly after she started taking the order for the group two people walked in and sat at a booth next to me, as the Server was taking the order for the group to the kitchen a man sat down in the booth on the other side of my booth. The Server then went to that, most recent arrival, took his order and walked past my booth and started taking the order for the people who had sat after me. By this time it was past 10:30, and as I wanted breakfast I was out of luck. I decided that it was best that I go down the road to the Village Inn, as they serve breakfast all day, and they are careful to pay attention to customers as they arrive. I won't be back to Brick Street, either the Cafe or the Market, Hy-Vee will get my business.

Stopped in for an early lunch. My Companion ordered a Hamburger with Sidewinder fries, I ordered a Rueben with Onion Rings. The baskets we received had the sandwiches and a huge amount of the sides. The burger was thick and juicy, the Rueben had a ton of tasty Corned Beef, with a classic flavor profile. We enjoyed our lunch but were unable to finish all of the sides.

I stopped to order food Togo. Sat at the counter Paid my bill way ahead of my food arrival Left a $3.00 tip on a $10.90 bill Then they made me give up my seat and go wait by the door on an uncomfortable bench Of course no drink refill offered I will not be back!

Normally This is a fantastic place to get Breakfast. The menu has all of the traditional breakfast items, plus a few others! However, my latest visit was at 8:30 on a Tuesday morning. Bingo was happening. The place was almost completely filled, the one table available required navigating through a mess of people sitting with their chairs away from the table and the handbags of female customers laying all over the place. Fortunately I was alone as the volume of the sound system, for the Bingo Caller, was too loud to be able to carry on a conversation. Once seated I had to wait an eternity before getting service. The food arrived quickly enough but my empty coffee cup sat by my plate a long time. I would have enjoyed a second cup of coffee during my meal. The experience was even more uncomfortable because the Bingo people kept staring at me as if I had two heads, I even took a selfie to make sure that I was actually wearing clothing and had not just imagined getting dressed before arriving.
