They have the most greatest and authentic azada corn tortilla tacos with onion and cilantro. Since I tried them out been a weekly or 2 times a week since to get a few. They now know me by heart and they say no lime first with me which is key due to family allergies.Dietary restrictions: They understand my partners allergies and make sure to not include it on my mine so I don't accidentally poison him with a kiss.

Fon Miguel's Tienda and restaurant can be relied upon to provide a wide selection of hard to find ingredients for central American cooking in the grocery store and tasty meals at the restaurant. Sometimes (not reliably on schedule it seems) they have Menuedo on Saturdays. And freshly delivered pan dulces weekly. I mostly visit this much appreciated shop to stock up on cooking ingredients once or twice a year. I admit I haven't eaten at the restaurant for a few years. When I had it was very good. It's atmosphere is quite bare bones but clean and well cared for with good service.

This is the kind of food you'd get at a home in Mexico. Not fancy, just good (my wife's family is Hispanic) like abuelitas. Had the steak with green chili sauce (bistec con chili verde) and the wife had enchilladas. Both were very good. The owner, Mikey/Miguel, has been in the restaurant business in Cedar Rapids for 18 years and many of his family work in the restaurant/store. A real Mexican family establishment that is a treat for dining or shopping.
Don Miguel is never a disappointment when it comes to Mexican.

I was brought here by my wife earlier to check out the Mexican grocery store. The store has tons of ethnic food I've never seen and some brands but they all have Mexican pictures on it. Very cool. I want to buy the sombrero and poncho there someday!We wanted to try the restaurant part but didn't have time.Tonight we did. Great place. This is the real deal! I got the Chicharron en Chile Verde. Wow. Very saucy. A little spice but just a taste. Came with Five corn tortillas not 3 like most places. I made quick work of that.My wife got Tacos de carne asada. Also very good (I just got one bite) she really liked it.I got the Mexican Cocoa Cola. This is the stuff with cane sugar not corn syrup. You can taste the difference. My wife who refuses to drink soda pop (pop, coke depending on your locality) actually had two long sips of it... woah...Loved the music, the people/staff (Pedro was really cool to talk with). Looking forward to more date nights here. As we were sitting there eating, this older (than me) guy walks past us to the order counter and says "this is the best Mexican I've had since Phoenix."Dietary restrictions: My wife got GF taken care of.

I bought a burrito I go in their a lot but received pico and a lot of rice and beans no chicken I usually get steak but this day I got what my fiancé likes and all I can say they’re was no mean inside and they don’t treat African American race as they do they’re people they tried to charge me 4 dollars to remake my burrito with receipt and the fact they seen it wasn’t any meat yesterday was my last
