This place is fantastic, the waitress was amazing. Had a New York strip, seasoned with Montreal steak seasoning cooked medium. Which was excellent, along side bacon wrapped asparagus. Great dining experience.

Walked in this weekend and been here many times. First this is an absolutely beautiful place and a great environment. We really want this restaurant to succeed. Sadly, we were again very disappointed with our experience. The bartender didn't know how to make a good drink , wrong mix and was very diluted. Appetizers were fine, but since the kitchen was busy they sent out bread which was a 6 " ball drizzled with butter and dusted with parmesan . It tasted ok but presentation was lacking. No knife or cutting board so you had to use your hands which leaves them coated in butter and cheese. Worst, my wife's chicken ,that they call Chicken Marsala, but is not even close to the classic (reduced stock, demi-glac, Marsala wine, large portobellos, etc.) and visually unappetizing, white in color not a rich brown. It tasted awful (maybe cook didn't follow the recipe?) and after a few bites she didn't eat it nor took leftovers. Don't riff on a classic unless your you are sure it's up to to its the namesake. I think it's a management issue. I understand staff is hard to find and ingredients are expensive, but bring in someone train your staff (chef and cooks especially) for taste, consistency, presentation and test your product. This restaurant is in a higher price range for the CR market and palate in general so people expect quality. This place is night and day different between pre and post pandemic. Unfortunately, we won't be going back and it was formerly our favorite CR restaurant. Sigh!

Wife and I went there last night. Service was excellent but I asked for Shrimp Diavola mild and it was way to hot I thought I could stir it and it would get better but no. Waitress said she would take it back but my wife’s food was already there I didn’t want to wait to get more food. Chef told her that most customers decide they want it hotter but I’m not most customers. I felt like he should of fixed it the way I said. For hotness between 1-10 it was a 8, stomach pains rest of night. My fault for not sending it back.

We dropped in to get out of the wind and rain early, for a glass of wine and appetizer. Chose the fried artichoke and mushrooms, very tasty.Had so much fun chatting with bartender Cierra we stayed for dinner, steak salad, yum!Lovely architecturally significant building (old bank designed by Louis Sullivan), very friendly staff and owner, and free chilled shrimp during Happy Hour on Fridays. ?

Chef came out and told us about his hand cut steaks etc. Thought that was great and we were excited to try them. Filet seemed like it was the last one on the loin, looked like a tail. Steak was far over cooked as was our guests pasta and other dishes. Very dissapointing.

Overall a good experience. Took a little longer for entrees but not bad. Server was attentive and friendly. Food was very good but maybe slightly over-priced. I would recommend to friends.

Food tasted like it was right out of the Sysco food truck. Bland and boring. Specialty house drink was just a full glass of bourbon. Waiter carried my drink to our table by holding the rim with his fingers. Will not return.

The food was terrific! While they don't offer gluten-free pasta, they accommodated my modifications so that I could still have a very tasty meal. Katie, our server, was wonderful and made it a great experience! We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Cedar Rapids!

Great food and nice place for a night out. We call it being adult time. Wait staff and bit slow and not super attentive. Great food and enjoyed the meal. Dinner for 4 took about 90+ mins. We would give it another time.

Snowy Thursday? Snow problem! Girls night with a friend at Popoli last night was just what I needed! Drinks: sangria for TK, Manhattan for me Appetizer: bruschetta (the best I've had in my LIFE, it was absolute perfection) Entrees: raspberry pork with candied carrots for TK, chicken marsala with penne for me (penne recommendation by our stellar server named Zach, 5 stars for dinner purely based on his service) Dessert: tiramisu for TK, Crème Brule for me (TK made me get it, and it was delicious) + our friend and her husband were at the table next to us...and she forced me to try her caramel bread pudding. It did not disappoint But it was bizarre eating from another person's table I can't wait to go back!! #eatlocal #crmarionambassadors
