Food was cold, server was busy doing shots with friends, no one came to check on us until we were waiting for the bill. We got there at 5pm. There wasn't a soul there and we still waited forever for drinks before we had ordered anything else. There was a rubber band on my husband food. No I'm sorry no nothing. Sad how this place went downhill. I used to like going there when in town, now I'll be looking forward to not going there

We LOVE Mezcal, however, I was very disappointed the last time we ate there. I bet it was about 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us standing there even though every single server walked by us numerous times. A little, "Someone will be with you shortly" caused all three categories not to have 5 stars. Our server was very attentive once we were seated, but the initial impression makes a HUGE difference. We'll be back, but if I experience the same thing again then we won't be. I've worked in food for years and even if you can't be there to seat someone immediately, you HAVE to acknowledge your paying customer!!

My husband and I used to come by every week, and we always got the same thing every time: steak fajita nachos and a rice and chicken with a side of large cheese sauce. Since the new owner, the quality of food went down real quick. Everything tastes store bought and bland now. The cheese dip tastes like it came straight out of a can and was cold and hard to dip the chips in because it was already too thick by the time the waiter brought it over to us. The steak and chicken taste raw and bland. My husband found bone in the chicken on two separate occasions. The chips were stale and the vegetables were very cold. The waiter we had two nights ago was very rude, didn't want to make eye contact, and would roll his eyes and walk away before we were done talking. We will be finding a new place to go from now on.

Waiter never came back to see if we needed more drinks or see if everything was OK with our food. Never refilled chips and salsa, nor drinks. Food was OK, enchilada sauce tasted burnt or kept on a steam table to long. Food just OK you'd think it was terrific as busy as they were. Very noisy because they were busy we could hardly hear one another talk at our own table. It took 45 minutes to get a take out order at the end of our meal. None of us had alcohol drinks but they looked huge on the next table to us. Food was barley warm when it was brought to our table. The waiter couldn't care less.

I was disappointed with my experience at Mezcal. I love the Mezcal in Dewitt so when I was in Clinton I decided to stop by here to try it out. I ordered one of the specials, the Chile Colorado, which is one of my favorite dishes. I was told they didn't have enough and that I would need to order something else. I thought this was weird being that it was a special and I dined on a Saturday at noon, but thought maybe they forgot to take it off the board. My second order was for their California burrito, which I ordered with chorizo. What I got was a tortilla with ground beef inside, it was not chorizo. There was no spice, or seasonings at all in that meat. I'm not sure if they also ran out of that and just didn't want to admit it or just didn't think I would notice. Either way, I was pretty unimpressed with the burrito and the food in general.
