Nestled in Urbandale, Coaches Kolaches is not just a bakery; it's a haven for those seeking exceptional flavors and warm hospitality. The owner, who embodies the spirit of Texas hospitality, always greets customers with a smile and ensures everyone leaves satisfied. The pastries here are more than just food; they're a culinary journey. From traditional Czech pastries with a Texas twist to innovative flavor combinations, each bite is a delightful surprise. Personally, my taste buds dance with joy at the first bite of the Jalapeno Sausage Kolache, a spicy yet savory delight that never disappoints. Supporting local businesses like Coaches Kolaches isn't just about enjoying delicious food; it's about investing in your community. So next time you're in Urbandale, give this gem your business. You won't be disappointed!

Good but basically just a roll. I got the ham and cheese, which is just one thin slice piece of ham and must have been one small slice of cheese. It think it baked into the bread cause I didn’t see any cheese in there. Very little on the inside, almost comical. Nice place, I’m assuming locally owned. The bread was very good and fresh but basically $3 for a dinner roll.

Im originally from an area with a large Czech population with kolaches on every corner. Since moving to Des Moines I've been missing the soft fruity goodness. This place was exactly what I needed to fulfill the craving. The best kolaches that I've had in years... maybe ever!

I’m from Texas & live in Chicago & have been looking for Texas kolaches up north for a long time. I had this place bookmarked for a while & finally got to check it out when we were visiting Des Moines! The Astro kolache (weekends only) was huge & delish & filled with yummy brisket & the jalapeño sausage (also $9.50!). I also wanted a regular sausage link kolache but they gave me a sausage & egg one instead which was also tasty. Got the bacon egg & cheese & a sausage jalapeño kolache as well as a cinnamon roll. Everything was delish & was pretty much what you can get in Texas! Thanks for bringing a bit of Texas to Iowa. I’ll definitely be back to take some home to Chicago.

A little taste of Texas right in the heart of Iowa. Some people even make the trip from Minnesota to get some. Love Coaches Kolaches. If you live nearby you have no excuse to not try them. Even if you have to drive a little bit, they're worth the drive! My belt line is probably happy I don't live closer. I would be in the store all the time.

Great food and friendly service. Unique menu you won't find too many places in the metro. Definitely worth seeking out.
