Decided on the spur of the moment to eat out. Niland's was close by and was not disappointed. Food was great as was the service. We will definitely be going there again.

Can't beat a good ol kinda home cook meal. This is definitely a stop you could add to your travels. Got a touch of the Cafe's history on the wall... Also I haven't been here in a good minute so the new to me is the Island where you can sit at is much better upgrade... Really helps with the flow of traffic coming and going... As we know when we were kids the value of goods was more affordable then... Today just your basic cheese burger n fries with drink probably bout 15 to 18 dollars maybe a little less.. but nonetheless it's home cookin so go ahead and check em out right on old Lincoln Way.. old 30... Heading east... Now 65 all ya gotta do is head to Colo IA and it's either gone be the first thing you see if your driven south or it'll be the last thing ya see in the city limits... No matter that's what a landmark is when you're tryin to find out where ya be at on a map... Ya can tell em Drew told ya how to get there..... Nice small restaurant with lots of trinkets from days gone by. Everyone in my group liked the food, from hot beef sandwiches, to fish sandwiches to burgers. Prices were good for these inflationary times. Definitely recommend.

I’ll continue to go back here. Years ago we would enjoy this place with my mother in law but something changed and it just wasn’t good anymore. When it reopened we decided to try it and have not had a complaint since! New owners or new cook I don’t know but thank you!
This is a great place. Clean, homey and great service. The Reuben was the best ever. 20 out of 10 stars. The bacon cheeseburger was also a hit.High recommend!!

My wife said their ruebon sandwich is best she has had. The service was very fast and friendly. Tganks Ashley J! This was our first visit but we will be repeat customers for sure. Great atmosphere and cool stuff to look at. Very nostalgic vibe.

Depends on who your server and cook is that day. 1st time had an older server and things went without a hitch. Food was hot and tasty. Tenderloin was very good. 2nd time we had a younger server. She wanted to charge 3 dollars for a split plate instead of the 2.50 stated on the menu. The only difference was we each got a bun with half the protein and fixings on the side.The pasta salad the 2nd time had a few pieces of vegi and a dressing with more sugar then anything else. Just saying Depends on the day.

You can not go wrong with the Hot Roast Beef. If you don't want to get stuffed, you can just get half one and still be full.
