Always a favorite when in Iowa City. We had mild and spicy vegetable jalfrezi - both perfectly spiced and delicious. The mulligatawny soup was rich and thick with vegetables. We enjoyed both plain and garlic naan. The servers were pleasant and efficient.

Very average food . Samosa was so so. Masala tea was okay, albeit bit cold. Tandoori chicken was alright but bland. Paneer butter masala was very bad with yellow sweet gravy and paneer pieces thrown in it. Butter chicken curry was diluted and was very below average. Garlic naan was fine. Rice looked stale.I guess the restaurant caters to BLAND mid west American taste buds. We expected better food in a college town.

Went in and my whole party ordered butter chicken, mango curry, chicken biriyani, ice masala chai. The butter chicken was the worst dish we ordered, the sauce tasted really funny and the chicken felt like salmon. The water had a very funky and disgusting after taste, the best way I could describe it is it tastes like old pasta water. The roti was too burnt and crunchy. Other than that the place was very good

It is not exotic India restaurant. Kindly change the name. Biryani we ordered horrible. It was not fresh at all . And we ordered another dish chicken Tikka masala , hey guys never order this tikka chicken masala they added so much food color not either tasty all color smeared to your mouth . Taking ! Never thought I go. Serving is pathetic poor not all hygienic atmosphere. Regret coming here no more and never will I recommend others.

I can't find better Indian food than this place. I'm still trying to find a place that compares to Exotic India in Chicago! Iowa is so lucky to have this place, don't sleep on it. Their veggie samosa, garlic naan and butter chicken are to die for.

That butter chicken and naan hit closest to home on this side of the state, not to mention the bhindi

Bad experience. Staff like to serve white customers. Service to us (INDIANS) was bad. Very bias response. Regret visiting the restaurant.
We order the Aloo Chat which was not even close to how it was described in menu it was also cold instead of being hot neither tasted as it should I am an Indian and know how it’s so-posed to taste. I make better food worst 75$ plus tip spent . PLEASE READ THE ONE STAR REVIEW since most of those are from Indians who have had good Indian food before, the waiters were also rude and unapologetic when we brought up the horrible food. In my opinion please find a better restaurant it’s a waste of money.

I'm still thinking about our takeout from Exotic India in Coralville! We got Karahi with chicken, Punjabi Bhaji, Exotic platter, and Paneer stuffed naan. Was super difficult to choose a favorite because everything was so good! I got the Punjabi Bhaji and it would be difficult to not get again but we're excited to go back and try more! We got medium spice and felt it was perfect. There is not much better than fresh naan either. It was very easy to order as takeout and our food was ready right at the quoted time despite it looking pretty busy in there when we picked up.

We had the pleasure of recently visiting Exotic India. We were visiting Iowa from Alabama and used Google reviews. The food was nothing less than outstanding. This is the most authentic Indian food that we have found outside of Atlanta. We started with the Masala Chai tea. It was warm, spicy and delicious! We had an appetizer of warm and crunchy Somosa. We've never had it before so there's nothing to compare it to, but it was wonderful. We tried two meals: Paneer Butter Masala and Matar Paneer. Both were cooked to perfection. I've not had better paneer ever. I preferred the matar paneer; however, my daughter preferred the paneer butter masala. You can not go wrong with Exotic India. I absolutely recommend this restaurant if you want authentic Indian food. Well done!!

First time eating here. My sister recommended this place. AAAAND HOLY CRAP! ITS SOOOO GOOD! I was an Indian food virgin bc I hang out with picky eaters, but I had an hour to kill. The butter chicken was phenomenal

I've made better chicken saag at home myself. There were cockroaches crawling on the walls in the area by where we were eating, for the first and last time.
