Love this place for a hotel-bar kinda spot this place has some of the best food in town. I recommend it to anyone looking for a good dining experience. Reasonable prices, great food and knowledgeable staff make for a great spot out of the college student main stream.

My friends and I always have a great experience at 1201 Kitchen. We have never been disappointed. It truly is a sleeper in the Iowa city area. Location is great. Atmosphere is great. Who closes during the Iowa women’s basketball game in the final 4 kicking people out mid game?! This place need’s to be shut down. Management and service are trash. Im a republican and take most abuse with a smile but this was completely uncalled for spilling on customers on purpose to get them to leave?!!!

We called ahead to hold a table for the Iowa Womans game against Ucon. We were forced to leave before the game ended by the bartender. They were cleaning with a terrible smelling cleaning bucket and left it by our table. Smelled like a dead animal. Then they turned up the lights to leave. And finally the bartender dropped a platter and spattered ketchup all over my wife. We will never go to this terrible establishment again.

Super impressed. All the food was really good fast friendly service. Monte Cristo was amazing and so was the guac.
can't say enough about the dedication of their employees. we recently stayed at the hampton which is connected to them. even during the blizzard of 1/24 they were able to get enough staff to keep it open allowing us the have a cooked meal instead of more hospital cafeteria food. I was even surprised when they had prime rib ready. it was very tasty and not dry and stringy like some have. topped it off with some delicious bread pudding. can't say thank you enough and if we're ever in the area again will be seeing you again.

Easily the best meal I've had in a while. The acapulco fajitas were amaizing. The shrimp was fresh. Served w/ tortillas, guacamole, pico, lettice and sour cream. Also, the poblano rice was to die for. Had a dark craft beer from a local brewer. It was excellent. I definitely recommend if your in the area.
