absolutely horrible service. the manager here doesn't respect her customers whatsoever. my fiancé and i ordered food from this place, they forgot our egg rolls, rice, and a whole meal! our food was easily several days old, the chicken was hard as a rock and chewy, the crab rangoons had absolutely no filling inside, pure shell. sweet and sour sauce was con-jelled, so thick and nasty. we called the store and the manager had the audacity to hang up on us when we requested a refund due to poor quality of service and food. went up to the restaurant and they refused to give us our refund, they said they didn't have to money to give us. we ordered off their website !! absolutely would never spend my money here ever again, and no one that i know of will be coming here if i have any say in it. wouldn't be surprised if we get food poisoning and absolutely will be disputing the charge.

Put in an order at 3:45 to be delivered at 6. Started calling at 6:30 and was told we would get a call back right away with where our order was. At 7 I went there and they never started our order since no delivery driver showed up. I told them we called twice but nothing was said about that. Will never come here again. I understand they were busy but they could have called or emailed saying we would need to pick it up.

Hands down the rudest lady I've ever seen works here. So mean. Every time I go in I say hello! She has never looked at me once. I hope she starts having better days. Because this misery will soon kill her. Never even had the food. But damn. She is mean.

Never been here before, so thought I'd try it for lunch. Walked into the restaurant to order at the counter and noticed the prices on the menu were covered up. Oh well, whatever. Ordered the Mongolian beef. Here's the really unbelievable part - it was $10!!!!! Yes, $10 for a lunch plate and that didn't even include soup, eggroll, or crab rangoon!!! Absolutely ridiculous. Now onto the food. Serving size was average. Flavor was ok at best. Mongolian beef is pretty much just beef and onions, right? What I got was beef (not much), onions (not much) and a mix of other veggies - carrots, green beans, etc. This was not Mongolian beef - it was beef and vegetables. Really weird. With prices like that it would make no sense for me to ever go back. I can get better chinese food for less almost anywhere else.

Worst hotel delivery experience ever. Manager was quip and cared less. I Oder on on their web site that uses HubGrub to deliver. The site self propagates your location, not a room numbat if at a hotel. I called Chong manager to provide a room number. Told they were busy and would call me back. No call. No food showed up as test rather than call sent by driver asking for where I wanted the food delivered. Called Chang's manager again. Told m Not her problem call Hub Grub customer service. Asked for number she said she as the business using hub grub did not know the numbers. The customer service sucked and so did the food. Typical. Chicken cashew. No chicken no cashews but three quarters carrots and green celery. Totally find another place to spend twenty plus bucks. .

Before COVID-19 hit there used to be a Chang's Garden on Merl Hay, DSM. We LOVED the food we got from there & would purser take out at least once a month for the last three or so years. Not sure what happened but after Covid-19 & the lock down they location closed. The only option left was the one located on E. 14th St, DSM. We ordered the first time back in August. The food was very bland. Hardly any flavor to speak of. The General Tso's chicken was not spicy it was sweet, the beef and broccoli didn't have any flavor, the only thing we got that was relatively worth anything what is the sweet-and-sour pork. This time around we thought maybe it was a one off last time, let's try them again, we're hungry want some Chinese food. We ordered beef and broccoli, boneless barbecue pork, sweet-and-sour pork, lo mein, fried rice, General Tso's chicken and Mongolien beef (we order enough to get 2-3 meals out of the order). The food arrived in a timely fashion & was hot. It also came with egg rolls that we did not order (not complaining, just found it odd) & half the order looked as if it was a lunch order, half full of rice even though we ordered at 6pm. Yet again, no flavor! Instead of the General Tso's being mild or even spicy it was sweet once again, even though it was loaded with red peppers. The beef and broccoli, the Mongolian beef, the lo mein, all of it was very bland there was no flavor to speak of, it was a major disappointment. The food was colorful as usual just no flavor. I'm not sure how this is possible. Two orders months apart with same results? I'm sure others have had good experiences, this is ours & we will not be ordering from Chengs Garden ever again. 0/10 Would not recommend.

The breading on my chicken was soggy the rice was mixed with the dish so that was gooey and drenched in sauce . The meat in the wonton soup lacked flavor

This is the most rubbish food I've ever eaten. Some of the meat is undercooked. It's really disgusting

This place is the best fast food Chinese I've had in Des Moines! Fast and great price too. I ordered a small wonton soup and there were 4 dumplings in it and the soup broth was really good, not bland like some places. Their sweet and sour sauce is really good you can taste the pineapple in it and ginger. Will definitely order from here again!

Have heard differing opinions about this place. I came in for a late lunch and had a small egg drop soup and an egg roll. Both were flavorful and this is the 1st Asian place I've visited where I noticed the white pepper available on the table. I'll be back another day to try out a meal.

No equal to the hot and sour soup here. A huge order of pot stickers, no other place has an order of 8, and a large hot/sour soup. I literally crave this meal. Add a bit of sashimi from Thai flavors and, wow, what a feast. Also the owner, I think she is?, Is always so nice. I accidentally spilled the huge bowl of rice holding their pens once and I was so embarrassed. She was a true grandma about it and made me feel better. Love them! Hint: if you are not into spicy, order the soup "not spicy."
