I was in the area for an appointment and wanted donuts, I searched near where I was headed I looked up reviews and all positive. I got half a dozen French Beignets. Which I thought were delicious tasted fried and fresh and coated in powder sugar ? I also got two Chocolate glazed Cronut (Croissant Donut) one was for me and my boyfriend. Let's just say they both ended up being mine. They were flaky and delicious as well. I had picked up a twisted long john covered in chocolate and fruity pebbles. I did not get a photo of that. But he enjoyed it.I would totally come back for the beignets and Cronuts.The customer service was friendly and fast. They also appeared to have a drive thru window. I would go early as they make things fresh daily for more of a variety of options.10/10

7am on Saturday, this parking lot is packed with people sneaking a donut before a ride home to share the rest with family. Staff was welcoming and kind. I asked for a variety of 6 donuts and the employee packaged up 2 raised, 2 cake, and 2 cronuts. The sitting area has a few tables and chairs, nothing fancy. Price is appropriate. Highly recommend if you’re looking for the best donut in Des Moines!

Every time we go into Chu Chu they start waiting on someone that walked in after us. The person waiting on us today said there were no more long johns, even went back and “looked”. Another patron asked a different server for the same thing and got it. It’s always a bad experience going here.Edited to one star for the owner response assuming the situation and basically calling me a liar. Definitely one of the more arrogant responses I’ve seen.

Chu Chu has THE BEST DONUTS, I mean THE BEST DONUTS in the area, no one beats them, not even close. The donuts are always fresh. Great variety, my favorites being the bismarks and long john’s with the white fluffy filling! As well as the cronuts, these are so tasty!! And bearclaws, apple fritters, maple old fashion. You won’t be disappointed! Staff is wonderful too, always kind and helpful. This place is awesome and totally worth trying!
