Great cocktails, fun vibe. It's nice and quiet with comfy seating so it's a great date spot. The server was nice and helped me pick my drink. (Clean bathroom too.) I will come here again with a couple friends!

Wow the atmosphere here is amazing and the bartender was on point! Don't be afraid to ask for a drink suggestion.if you want a place to chill out, then head to juniper moon. the indoor and outdoor seating is amazing.I tried 4 different specialty bourbon drinks and they were all very unique and interesting.

Very cool craft cocktail bar. Not a huge bourbon selection but had a few very very nice pours available when I visited. Jason is fantastic and makes a great Sazerac. Highly recommend.

Love this place. I like that you never feel like you've stumbled into someone's private hangout, nor do you feel knee deep in the "bar scene." We go early if we want a chill, quiet vibe, and we go late if we want the energy of the crowd. Love the old movies on the TV screens and the beautiful assortment of vintage cocktail glasses. It's a bit of a slow burn, just the facts ma'am, no-gimmicks sort of place. Cocktails have always been on point and never too sweet. In our book one of the very best in Des Moines.

Surprisingly good service out on the patio: how annoying is it to always have to run in for each round when you're all the way out on the patio? (Then again, it's not always bad to stretch your legs). But still: I was surprised how good the service was.Drinks were also great. I'm always on the hunt for dry cocktails and this place didn't disappoint. Old Man & the C was a perfect cocktail for a summer night on the patio: imagine a scotch-based cocktail that accomplishes that. Nice & dry, with a little citrus, and somewhat herbal. Somehow for Friday night was also quite perfect in terms of the number and range of folks there. Yes, there was a table of 20-somethings, and yet they reigned it in. And then plenty of "older" folks like me.

Love Juniper Moon. We are very picky about cocktails and this place does it right. The inside setup with decor and ambience is perfect - options for sitting at the bar, tables, or lounge group seating. Wonderful patio outside as well. Always had good service here with knowledgeable staff and great bartenders.

I walked into juniper moon about an hour passed open on a weekday. A good group of folks were sitting at the bar having business conversations. The bartender was in the middle of making a few drinks so I figured I would sit and wait patiently but he was right on it getting me a French 75 (delicious) Great location going west on grand. A place I can bring both my grandma too and also bring my work colleagues. Great Bar hands down!

Cool location and atmosphere. I can see why people really like the drinks but for our tastes they didn't really match.They did have a really good rum selection. Next time I go, I'm going to have some samples.

The drinks were fine. They tasted slightly watered down but the atmosphere here is awesome! Would love to check out the patio when it gets warmer out!

Very mixed experience visiting for the first time. We had a larger group come in and sit on the balcony for a bachelorette party (which was gorgeous btw!), but when the bartender came out to take our orders he wasn't very friendly at all. I thought at first maybe it was just a play at dry humor when one of our party ordered a drink on the menu and he said "No." but then it was incredibly awkward and we all just sat there staring at him until he finally said "We're out of that." which was rather unneccessary when he could have just said that in the first place. He was really short with us in general too, and when we asked if we were allowed to turn on the firepits out there he said "Well do you want drinks or do you want the firepit?".We tried to make the best of the situation, but didn't really enjoy the drinks very much (not sure if he just didn't make them correctly because he didn't like us or if that was just how the drinks are, because all the other reviews here say that they are delicious). In addition, there were some rather snide comments being made about our group when some of our party went inside to use the bathroom, such as us having men in our group (our friends, the bride's father, and both brides' brothers). A wonderfully nice waitress came out a little bit later to refill our drinks and check on us- which made us feel a little better about being there, but overall we didn't feel welcome by anyone before we interacted with her, so we ended up leaving early and going to Big Grove Brewery just down the street.Like I said, a very mixed experience. Probably not going to go here again, and wouldn't recommend this place for people of color or LGBTQ+ just based off of the strange/hostile interactions.
