This is the best place to get an Acai bowl. I absolutely love this place and come here quite frequently and I’m always happy. It’s been the best Acai bowl I’ve ever had and I have lived many places and consider myself to be an Acai bowl fanatic.

Kava is hepatotoxic. Should have a sign of common medications that people may take that should not drink your drink since lay people do not understand this. Base upon your population and perception drugs you are taking you should not consume Kava. Are you an older individual taking trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole (bractrum), allopurinol for gout, methotrexate for immunosuppression, or even larger dose of Tylenol for pain, this is the last thing you'd wanna drink. There drinks are just okay tasting when I went.In 2002, the FDA put out an advisory that Kava was associated with severe liver injuries. Look it up!

They take 20-25 minutes to blend you a smoothie even with 2 - 3 staff members on hand. Also, the ingredients are usually already chopped up and in a baggie in their fridge. They only have vegan protein. Ingredients are not organic and yet they still charge you like $12 for a smoothie that does not have protein. Protein is an additional charge. Never coming back. To clarify there was 1 customer in front of me. Also, I don’t expect fast food speed service, but the employees move slow every time.

I absolutely loved this place. As someone who practices clean eating, I wish there were more places like this in Des Moines. I had the Chai Tea Latte with Coconut Milk, mushroom blend, and Kava. I also had the Sunkissed Bowl with GF granola and coconut whip. Excellent food and service.
One of my favorite things about Kava is the location, I am on the south side and to find a quiet spot to chill and do some work on my laptop while eating a delicious açaí bowl. I love the look and feel inside, the chairs and tables or comfy and i love having work meetings here, the staff is okay and could be more greatable but other than that it's such a cool spot for des moines to have.

Ever since i stepped foot in kava my first time, i loved it! The food & drinks are delicious and wonderful. the atmosphere and energy inside is always pleasant. it’s delightful to relax inside, work, do anything really. employees are always so sweet and will help with anything. love kava!! so sad it’s closingParking: free for 2 hours !

i tried the strawberry almond oat milk gelato awhile ago and it was the best thing ever! i love this place because everything tastes amazing and there is multiple non dairy options.Dietary restrictions: they have a lot of stuff that is made allergen friendly and is very good tasting.
