Great food and service.

I have been dining at Nut Pob for over 20 years. Whenever I make it back home, it’s top of the places I have to visit in Des Moines. Thanks for the GREAT food over the years!!

Always GREAT, but today, they were busy with several larger parties, and the quality of what is normally delicious was affected. The egg rolls were cold and very greased. They apparently shook the red pepper a little too fast and ruined the Chicken Basil as it was too seasoned hot to eat.The waitress did a good job, taking our order and making sure we had water and extra napkins. Thank you for your great service.

Let me start by saying, the food has always been great. Wish we lived closer. LOL, but the service is religiously slow and unresponsive (you can set your watch to it). However, I see they hired at least one new girl who was awesome. That’s how service should always be. Honey, you earned them 5-stars across the board. Hope the others learn. Anyway, back to the food, love it!!!!! We’ve tried several dishes and they’ve all been tasty. If you’re in the neighborhood and don’t mind the wait (not because of a line), you won’t be disappointed. Oh, the peanuts and sriracha sauce you see in the photo came on the side.

I have been here a few times and it is clean, the staff is friendly. The food has always been good. My only gripe is they need to UPDATE their prices on the menu!! If someone is on a budget and planning to spend x amount and go off menu prices they would fall short. For example my order from their menu INSIDE restaurant which is same as the pictures here posted! Per the menu my meal would have been $20.95 plus tax, instead it was $24.97 pre tax. So please update your menu prices. Other than that I will really be going back!

Delightful Thai & Laos restaurant on the south side. Seating for around 50 I would guess. Wheelchair accessible.Have tried many dishes here and always liked them. Typically order medium heat, which translates to super hot to me. I cannot imagine what the hot is. Generous portions. They are open Tuesday- Sunday, closed Mondays. Lunch specials during the week.Quick and friendly service. Locally owned and operated. You can tell all the veggies are cooked fresh and the food comes out piping hot.Vegetarian options: Both Thai and Laos vegetarian options.Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access for a wheelchair.

How do you run out of Pho at 6:45pm ??‍♀️ Will take my business rolling wok for now on. Worth the drive because they have Pho.

I haven't dined-in yet, but all of the takeout I've had has been perfect! I usually go with a papaya salad and some sort of fresh catch. They have never let me down! My food is always ready fairly quick and staff is always extremely welcoming. If you want some authentic Lao food, check this place out!

It’s been couple years since I’ve been .. figured Id give it a shot again.. some things never change .. slowest service ever and are always out of something.. waiter went to customers behind me and they didn’t have chicken wings then came to my table I ordered my food she came back minutes later saying they didn’t have that either ..

Nice place for Thai food! I had the Combination Vermicelli (large portion) - pretty good, but nothing outstanding. Angry catfish was good (especially eaten with sticky rice) and the sauce served with it is spicy!Fried rice comes with a lot of the frozen mixed vegetables and egg (on the lighter side). Pad Thai is on the lighter side and flavorful. Som Tam (papaya salad) is tasty served spicy. I didn’t care for the beef Laap (thought it was bland). My cousins live in the area and this is their go-to for Thai food so I’ll be returning in the future.

Been going here for years. Food is decent. Service is horrible and rude. I only order takeout, that is… if anyone answers the phone.
