I love coming here and love to get the poke bowls but I don't want an employee preparing it with hair hanging in their face. Nor do I want them running their finger through their hair while preparing my food. Her hair was pretty I just didn't want it in my food.

Better then any sushi place in Des Moines I think give it a try You'll love it it's like subway you build it your self anyway with countless options. And very healthy

It was my first time at The Poké Company and it won't be my last! It was incredible! The vegetables were fresh and cool and crunchy and the chicken was pieces of tender chicken thighs which were warm and had been cooked in some type of teriyaki sauce, mixed with the warm rice and sweet, spicy and a little salty sauces it was perfect! By the way the regular size bowl was more than plenty I can't imagine the size of the large! Can't wait to go back!

It's basically sushi in a bowl! Love this place because you can grab a bowl then a pizza or tacos downstairs. Location is perfect!

My husband and I recently returned from Hawaii and were missing the poke bowls we love so thought we would give the Poke Company a try. We were there in a Saturday night and there were a few people sitting at tables but it wasn't real busy. We went right to the counter to order - the woman helping us was not real personable or helpful. We have been to poke restaurants before and their boards or menus have clear directions for ordering - base, number of protein, number of add ins, number of toppings and extras and dressings to choose.... Not clearly stated here. Because we are familiar with ordering poke bowls, we had an idea, but all places vary some. We ordered two regular poke bowls - one with greens and one with brown rice. On the greens we added ahi tuna, cucumbers and pickled onions, crab salad, spicy Mayo and ginger. On the brown rice we added ahi tuna, cucumbers, edamame, crab salad, seaweed salad, sesame dressing. We were asked about drinks - many of the options were unavailable (had an X over them), so we ordered a berry kombucha and a Sapporo. And were offered two cups for water (they have infused water available). She asked to see our IDs (both being nearly 60 we were grinning - haven't been asked that in many years!) We paid and were picking up our food when she realized they were out of Sapporo - so we changed to a mini sake, and she forgot the kombucha. We had to make a second payment to cover that. We asked about chopsticks and she pointed toward where we had walked in - they were on a counter where the water, napkins and trash receptacle were. After getting everything together we went to sit - the tables were dirty, we cleaned two spots off with a napkin and sat. The food was good and the price was decent for poke. We will give the place another chance but might order delivery. Friends who recommended this place have used delivery and that would be one way around poor service, dirty tables and the overfilled trash which we noticed.

So delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant, it's my new favorite lunch spot. We ordered two bowls, one small veggie and a large chicken. The options for sauces and mix-ins/toppings were all fresh and delicious and each added to the bowl in texture and flavor.

I had a savory steak poke bowl with cauli-rice base, all the fresh, colorful add-ins, healthy toppings plus recommended company sauce, avocado-lime sauce. Protein of choice is Salmon or Shrimp, but didn't see options. Quick, convenient To-Go order or casual Eat-In ambience. Coming back to try new combinations soon!

Overall great food and a hearty meal for the price. I love the cauliflower rice option. It was the perfect texture--not cooked to mush but not raw and astringent. The salmon and ahi hit the spot. They were tasty, quality fish. And the toppings...I just love how much the servers are willing to fill up your bowl. My only complaint is that the staff ended up crowding around the table and didn't give much space. I'll still be back for the food.

Went for first time yesterday evening. Was AMAZING. Staff were very kind and the food was reasonably priced and tasty. Will for SURE be eating here again!

Always a great place for a quick healthy meal! I got a Salmon Poké Bowl with all the yummy toppings and mix-ins: spicy mayo, avocado-lime sauce, sesame seeds, wasabi peas, ginger, seaweed salad, scallions, hijiki seaweed, cucumbers, edamame, and eel sauce. The mix-ins was fresh, crisp, had a kick to it, and savory. All the freshness you would want with a great price! Highly recommend! I also got the honeydew and Thai tea boba teas. The teas were smooth, and had just the amount of sweetness. Although the boba are much smaller than regular boba it was still tasty and textural pleasant.

I have always loved a good poke bowl, and finally got the chance to try out the Poke Company for lunch (delivered through GrubHub). We ordered two normal poke bowls and two boba teas. I was impressed with the speed of our order, and the price was good. I've paid several dollars more at a local grocery store for much worse poke bowls. I'm only really going to review the quality of the ingredients, as the bowls are SO customizable that if it lacks flavor or you don't like it, it's honestly probably user error. Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl - VERY good quality fish, and I didn't feel like they skimped on it at not. No fishy flavor/smell, which is exactly what you want for raw. I would 100% order this again! Salmon Poke Bowl - Again, very good quality, almost silky salmon was used. My husband was a huge fan of his bowl and immediately remarked that he wants to order this for lunch again soon, and maybe on a regular basis. Boba Tea - This is where we lose a star. I'm bummed that they only currently offer three flavors (at least in the app). Tarro, coconut, and honeydew. I found the coconut boba to be really lacking flavor, while I did enjoy the honeydew. My husband, however, found the honeydew he ordered to be too much for him (lucky me!). I would love to see some more flavors added to the menu, and the flavor bumped up on the ones they do currently have. Overall, we had a good first experience and plan on ordering from them again soon! They have a lot of interesting craft soda options I'm dying to try next time!

It was love at first bite!! Never had a poké bowl before now because I always saw raw fish options BUT NOW...I've finally got to experience a real good plant based bowl- IN DES MOINES. Hawaiian tradition style fish sushi bowl [like a burrito bowl] with mix ins and sauces. Asian ingredients so it's got that Asian flavor. It is hot rice on bottom cold toppings on top. I ordered: regular tofu bowl, white rice, all the mix ins (cucumber, onion, edamame, jalapeño, cilantro, hijiki seaweed), with avocado lime dressing, wasabi peas, tempura flakes, pickled ginger, pineapple, and seaweed salad. Wow I was impressed! And that pineapple....never would have thought it would have been good but it is a MUST. Cost was $7.33 with gratuity. I like their website and the ability to order online. Also! They have a food allergy list that is simple to read. Very helpful. One of my little girls liked it: kid friendly if they have the palate for it. Service was quick for a Saturday night 7:00pm. No line! Totally surprising but it's a dish that many don't know about or apprehensive to try. (Because I was one of those people!) They serve natural flavored soda and bubble tea. Tip: bubble tea is NOT vegan, made of cow milk. I can't wait to get back here and I'm bringing all my sushi loving friends!

My daughter and I both love that we have another dining option when my son picks Blaze Pizza for dinner. He can have that and we can hop upstairs, order our Poke to go and enjoy it with the rest of the family. I love how fresh the ingredients taste. The salmon look and tastes so good. The number of ingredients makes this a fun place to visit. I have so many different options to mix and match and walk away with something new each time.

I really really like that the Poke Company came to Des Moines. I think it's a chain that is in other states, but we don't get a lot of fresh seafood in the Midwest. This place is consistently good, super clean, and the staff are very helpful. I've never had poke anywhere else, so I can't compare there, but this place makes me think of sushi but in a bowl. It's a good option for lunch, and they have my preferred rice (caulirice) as an option in addition to regular rice. They also do salads if you'd prefer no rice. The seaweed salad is worth the extra couple bucks and overall, I think everyone should at least try this place. We don't get a lot of fresh, good seafood options in Iowa and I'd like for it to stick around for a long time.

After my initial visit with a Yelp party I was finally able to get my mom and friend down to try. It's been too long! The menu on the wall doesn't have the "premade" options anymore but the staff know the favorites and are happy to help you along. Gluten free or Vegan.. they got you covered. Walk on in and start at the food line. Pick your rice and your bowl size. Mom got a small bowl. Grandma got a wrap (which was like one giant sushi wrap), my friend got a regular bowl and I also got a regular bowl. There is a ton of good options. After rice you pick your protien. I got the aha tuna. From there a nice selection of items to add to your poke bowl. I got more than I could eat in one sitting and was very pleased. I also had to have the Thai tea... it was like a dessert. I am still pleased as punch with this place. The food is so refreshing because it's so fresh. The fish tasted fantastic. Everyone was super happy with their food and thanked me for getting them down there. I wish I was closer to this place I would be here more often.
