The food was excellent. One of the best steak deburgo I’ve had. The restaurant is small, so it gets really noisy. There was also no clear communication in where to go to get on the waitlist, you can’t wait at the bar so you have to go to a small waiting room down further in the strip mall. But again no one told us where to go to wait and there was no signage.

What a hidden gem! Waitress was fantastic, food was amazing. The filet was cooked perfectly and had some of the best scallops I have ever eaten. Highly recommend!

Did we wait a long time for a table? Yes, 1.5 hours. Was it worh the wait, 100%.Our first trip we felt welcomed and encouraged to go to the waiting room at the end of the block. Our drink order was taken and even though it was slammed--the owner still took time to talk to us. The food was wonderful and the pizza was one of the better slices I've had in Des Moines. The atmosphere was fun and after awhile--you forget about waiting. It really does feel like a family place where you're welcomed. Loved the experience and would happily wait again!

Everyone was so kind and the food was fantastic. I recommend the lasagna, the beef they have and the red velvet cake is to die for!! A must visit!!!

We got there early to be in one of the first groups to be seated. A waitress walked dow the line of people standing in line waiting to ask if anyone wanted anything to drink. The owner greeted us as we walked in and also talked to the people who were still waiting outside. I had the stuffed chicken over pasta and I was not disappointed. The chicken was flavorful and the mix of marinara and Alfredo was delicious. The red velvet cake was a delightful treat as well! We will definitely be going back again!

It's kind of rare for a restaurant in Iowa to consistently line people up to eat there on a Thursday But when I arrived at Simon's that is what was going on. After eating there I understand. From the gracious fun loving host to the professional waitstaff I was blown away. Oh yeah, the food was amazing also. I want to go back to try something else.
Listen, when you know-you know. I am so glad I went to this place. Just passing through and followed the great reviews. Everything about this place screams “outstanding!” Can’t say enough about Simon and the whole crew. It’s like a well working bee hive! They crank out excellent food that’s hot and delicious all while taking excellent care and providing service above and beyond. Do yourself a BIG favor and go eat here!

This is a wonderful place to go for a quite dinner. Their staff are amazing. The prices are comparable to anyone else for what you get including the service and that means a lot these days I highly recommend you try this place if you haven’t cause it’s worth it even if you have to wait a bit. You can call ahead for reservations if you have a party of 5 or more

Simon greeted us, sat us down, checked in on our meal, and thanked us for coming on our way out! Very gracious host and staff in this busy place. We waited about 45 min but worth the wait! Steak deburgo, beef stroganoff, bread, seafood bisque, and red velvet cake were all delucious!
