It had been a couple years since I last had Teriyaki Boys (back then, they were where Fernando's is now in the Local Bites food court), and it was kind of sad to see what used to be a super busy food court with lots of options only have a few open options (that and the dimly lit room made it seem kind of forlorn), but I'm glad to say that Teriyaki Boys had the same great taste and the same competitive pricing. The amount of food you get for the price in addition to the taste itself is fantastic. We've been trying to find a good teriyaki place that's somewhat comparable to Washington state, and it's safe to say that this definitely helps the teriyaki cravings!Got the shrimp, beef, and chicken (didn't take a picture of that, but did take a picture of the beef and chicken) with steamed rice. The rice was really good, veggies gave a nice crunch, and the meat was juicy, tender, and just fantastic.

I got the beef teriyaki. It was alright. Very, very sweet without any other notes except black pepper. Would have appreciated some garlic, ginger, galangal... anything really. Alohana in Ankeny is better, in my opinion.

Great food court food. I picked this up to go to take back to my husband at work for lunch and I was so happy with my choice. I got the chicken and shrimp teriyaki and I got him the beef teriyaki with crab Rangoons. It was all perfectly cooked and so good. He was very happy they had a diet Dr Pepper too.

I'm a fan for the simplicity and relative speed of service. I have only had the chicken (by itself) and the beef (by itself). Both are good. I actually prefer the chicken, however, which is good for the price. If I could make an immediate improvement, I wish they offered a self-serve water cooler like others do. If I can offer a compliment, I'd say the sauce bottles are a nice touch and I appreciate the opportunity to sauce my food as I wish. Overall, I'm happy to eat here every few weeks!

Given all the positive reviews, I tried Teriyaki Boys and was blown away. Delicious! Parking can be a bit of a pain but if you happen to find yourself downtown during the week, stop by.

Closest thing to West Coast teriyaki you will find in Des Moines. 6 stars
The ingredients are fresh and well cooked. I'm fond of the tofu or chicken, but I'm sure whatever meat you choose will be fresh as well. The sauce the meat is tossed in is mild, but flavorful, and the rice has a good texture. Best of all, they don't look at me weird when I coat the meal in a mountain of free sesame seeds. Ps- Don't skip the homemade chili sauce on the counter it adds a great kick!

Had a meeting with a partner here and tried Teriyaki Boys for the first time. It's in a food court of a Des Moines business building so it has limited hours but the Teriyaki Chicken was great and such a big portion I had some left over to take home! Glad I tried something new, it was worth it!

Simple menu, great selection. Highly recommend choosing fried rice!
