I stopped at Frannie’s BBQ for dinner and I was very pleased!Upon entering the restaurant I was a little weary. There were a few pool tables, some pinball machines, and a few tables scattered around the room. There was also a bar located further back near the kitchen. I sat at the bar. The female server was very prompt and friendly. I’m assuming she is Frannie. I asked what the restaurant’s specialties were and she mentioned pulled pork and chicken wings. I decided to go with the fried catfish, which comes in filets or nuggets. I also chose coleslaw as my side.The restaurant appears to be a neighborhood favorite. While I was there a few other people came in to dine, and many people came in for takeout orders.After waiting about 10-15 minutes the cook brought out my food. I must say the coleslaw was delicious, and the fried catfish was probably the best I’ve ever had. Very flavorful and crispy. My bill was about $15I don’t live in Iowa, and don’t make it to Dubuque very often, but next time I’m in town I will remember that catfish.She also told me about her brother’s food truck, near me in Minneapolis. I will be checking it out when I get a chance.

BBQ but we got no sauce, fries only taste like lemon and are greasy af. Don't get the frozen lemonade it's just slushy mixer and the most sour lemonade. $46 for two meals plus drinks. Ribs were well seasoned tho, even with no sauce.

Best food spot in Dubuque Iowa hands down… If you don’t mind the wait it’s well worth it. I moved to Wisconsin 2 years ago and i must say Frannie’s is my favorite food spot.

A chef friend recommended Frannie's to us a few weeks ago, so the next time we were in Dubuque, we had to stop in. Some of the best BBQ brisket I've ever had. The baked beans had brisket and peaches in them...so dang good. I highly recommend Frannie's. We're definitely coming back next time we're in the area.

I’ve been all over the country — Texas, Kansas City, San Francisco, Atlanta — trying BBQ, and this is by far the best soul food that I’ve had in any city ?? the Beef Tips are moist & flavorful throughout, the CHICKEN WINGS taste phenomenal & have just the right amount of flour fried on them, & the cheesecake is mouthwatering & to die for ??? easily my favorite place to eat food in Dubuque . You can tell by someone’s cooking how much they love the craft, & you’ll be able to taste the difference between here & places like Buffalo Wild Wings from the first bite . I frequent here as much as I can afford to ?
