When I ordered a smoothie, the cashier told me it would be "a bit of a wait," but that wait ended up being over 50 minutes. I heard her telling other customers the wait would be 15 minutes, but other customers sitting near me also said they'd been waiting 40-45 minutes. I finally asked the cashier if they had already started my smoothie and she said it was being made next, otherwise I would have asked for a refund and left. I told her they need to be more upfront about their wait time, and the cashier was dismissive and unapologetic. Eventually a different employee came out to give me a coupon for a free smoothie, which I appreciate, but this employee also didn't seem to understand my comment that, if the staff knows full well it will take 45+ minutes for a smoothie to be made, they need to do a better job of making that clear when ordering. The employee said they're understaffed and I understand and sympathize with that, but I think they could do a better job of being transparent. "A bit of a wait" to me does not mean 52 minutes. If it's going to take an hour, they need to communicate that more clearly from the beginning.

the juice here is actually addicting i love it! the morning dew is by far my favorite. i’ve had some of the food options and they’re equally great! the açaí bowl is my favorite. it’s a bit pricey but a nice treat:)

This place always has a line every time we make the trip to Iowa City and stop here. It is no wonder, the juice is the freshest best cold pressed juice around. We literally drive 25 miles for it. They will deliver as well if ypu get you order in by Wednesday, they deliver on Fridays. Even 30 miles away.

Workers seemed very confused on the order of food and the service was very slow. Not sure if there just weren’t enough workers or if they were overwhelmed with the amount of orders, because it was a popular time. Delicious food but slow

I first walked into this place an innocent woman, one who thought I knew what a good smoothie was. But alas, I was mistaken. The moment a singular atom from that first sip touched my tongue, it was like my mouth burst into a nuclear explosion of wonder. I saw my future: my job, who I would marry, what my kids would grow up to do, and how I would eventually die. My depression was cured instantly, my acne cleared, my lifespan extended by 40 years. My life would never be the same again. It was an awakening. The smoothie was just thick enough to have substance, but thin enough that I didn't have to unlock the vacuum of space to drink it. I could taste every. Single. Fruit. And the yogurt. Oh, the yogurt!!!This shop supports local businesses, which is cool. It has options other than smoothies, too. But every day I crave a smoothie from this place. I go feral. My friends all have scratches and bite marks on their arms from when they've tried to stop me from getting a smoothie. My boyfriend nearly lost his leg. My mom called me today sobbing, trying to plead me to stop. She says weird things like I'm "cutting into the family savings" and "tearing the family apart". But no one can get in between Get Fresh Café and me. No. One. And that is why you should go!
What I ordered was really good - a smoothie bowl. HOWEVER. The price listed on the menu displayed above where you order was not accurate. Instead of the $12 listed, it rang up as $15. Toppings are listed (you get 3 with build your own), but boosters (you get 2) are not. I asked about them, was told chia seeds, and that rang up as $1 extra. While the serving is large, paying $17+ for a smoothie bowl is, IMO, too expensive. I understand the owner is looking to get a digital menu display so updated prices are easier to display, but still. Looking at this cynically, this is a great way to lure in customers to pay, in my case 25% more. I'd like to go again, but I want to have the true cost DISPLAYED instead of making the order and then having an unpleasant surprise.

I LOVE Get Fresh!! It's my favorite place in Iowa City for lunch, smoothies/smoothie bowls, and fresh juice.My usual order is the Spicy Vegan BLT - the housemade tempeh bacon is amazing - and the green goddess bowl (choose 3 toppings) or the green smoothie. My family also adores the freshies.They have a great selection of fresh juices. I sometimes get these to add to our smoothies at home.On top of the the delicious food, the owner, Wendy is wonderful. She has created a beautiful space with plants to enjoy fresh, local food.

Such an underrated smoothie shop!The aesthetics were amazing -- they had a couch and study area, were great decor. I got the daily special which turned out to be a bluberry pineapple smoothie, which hit the spot on that sunday morning after running around at the farmer's market.
