We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was completely busy, but their prompt service and good attitude and also delicious food made all the difference. The wait time wasn't too long and the food was pretty fast coming out. Would definitely suggest his place for families with kids or just a place to stop in and get some good wholesome food.

My first visit to Harry's. Gluten-free pancakes are on the menu. I asked if they made GF waffles; it seemed like they may not have in the past, but the chef said he could make a gluten-free waffle for me. I am uncertain of the cost as iI did not see or pay the bill (another ember of our party did). I haven't ever been to a restaurant that had GF waffles, so it was a special treat for me! It wasn't crowded at 830 am on Friday. Amanda was an attentive server and was very pleasant. Looking forward to trying the GF pancakes and several unique omelets on future occasions.Dietary restrictions: See above. I have Celiac Disease and did not have any adverse effects after my wonderful meal.

I've been in a couple times for breakfast, and I'm a huge fan. During my first visit, I had the cinnamon roll French toast, and it was great. Today, I had the pork roll, egg, & cheese sandwich, and my son had pancakes off the kid's menu. We loved our food, and we both left full and happy. They are absolutely nailing the made-in-house baked goods. Harry's is everything you expect and want in a great breakfast diner. There are easily a couple dozen more things that I look forward to trying on both the breakfast and lunch/dinner menus.

The food is /fine/, but for these prices my expectations are higher.Pretty bummed right now because I only ordered the fried chicken because Chomp let me request dark meat. I was so stoked, only to end up with an overcooked chicken breast and two small wings. My visit in person felt like a trip to the hospital with the cold, clinical lighting they have going on. The waffle I got was like a glorified Eggo.Overall I want to love this place but I haven't been impressed yet.

Server did not know menu items; table dirty with gray film; burger scorched well done..ordered medium; cole slaw was good; lighting very dim; front window dirty; waited 20 min...only four tables occupied.

The best diner in the area. Service and atmosphere are top notch but the food out of Hart’s kitchen is the real star. Working my way through the menu and everything has been amazing. Harry’s will not disappoint. Breakfast, lunch or diner, Harry’s is where you want to eat!

The restaurant had an amazing atmosphere. The food quality was good. The service was denifenttly lacking. The specials on the board were not honored. The house salad came in a cup for $6.. not worth it. The philly cheese steak was sandwich was absolutely amazing!

Went here with my girlfriend and we both got burgers. Both were super over cooked, fries were cold, flat coke, bad service. Think our server was at the table 3 times. Wouldn’t go back at all, I’m waiting for it to

I'm kicking myself for waiting this long to stop in and give Harry's a try. I spotted at least a dozen menu items that sounded amazing, but I settled on the cinnamon French toast with a side of bacon. Everything was perfect, and I already have my next several orders planned out.Service was great too. I don't think my coffee mug stayed empty for more than a few seconds at a time. To me, that constant flow of coffee is one of the signs of a great breakfast diner.I had read about this place opening in local newspaper articles, so it was cool to see all the decor celebrating the owner's father and the impact he had on Iowa City.Though they've only been open for a few months, Harry's feels like an Iowa City classic that's just kind of always been here, and I hope they stick around for a very long time.

We waited close to an hour with no food. The people around us had waited even longer. I try to be gracious to staff but this was ridiculous. I wish we had been at least warned how long of a wait it would be. Previously we came and waited a while for a table but were served fairly quickly. This time we got a table immediately but waited forever for food. We honestly would have preferred the first option. The food was okay. Chicken sandwich was dry. Bloody Mary was good but barely had any booze. Coleslaw way too sweet. Soggy fries. Its also expensive and the philly steak was pretty small (chicken sandwich was bigger). Will probably never come back here.

I was looking for breakfast and found exactly what I was looking for. Great Diner vibe with excellent food. I had the SMACK! Omelet and loved it. Highly recommend!

I ate there today with my son for the first time. The food was excellent, as was the service. The place is clean and comfortable. I will be back.

Been there five or six times for breakfast with a group of 3 to 6 of us. the omelettes were great. All the details are pretty good-sometimes some of the plates got cold waiting on the waiter to bring them to us so that's why I'd give it a four star instead of five. But the food was great.
