We had Mosley’s cater for our wedding and unfortunately it did not work out. They did not provide boats which we had discussed and had to eat off our heavy glass chargers. My wife approached them and said it was our wedding planner who said we would eat off them which after following up with her said never was communicated. Our final count we told them was 190 which ended up actually being 170 that came to the dinner. We ran out of food four tables short. We thought we would be taking left over home, not telling our guests to wait until the pizza delivery came. Additionally, when we did our taste test they quoted us a price and then a month before the wedding told us it would be more than the agreed upon price per plate because “inflation”. My wife reached out to them via email the week following our wedding kindly stating our concerns - and several of our wedding guests that night - and they took no accountability. It honestly was embarrassing for us - everyone at weddings remembers the food. While we love supporting small businesses, there our several bbq joints in the area and think other places would have been more accommodating.

I would love to be able to review Mosley's, BUT....We travel to over 20 different States each year trying local BBQ. We arrived at 11:20 on a Saturday morning. They open at 11:00 per the door and website. Two other families were already waiting. We all waited, they never opened. We tried the front door and back door. Maybe there was a family emergency. Call first....

Overpriced and a total letdown. Saturday, they were supposed to have brisket, but when I asked, they said they had none. It wasn't like they were busy either. We ordered a Moscow mule....the barkeep made sure to emphasize the “Moscow” because it was STRAIGHT VODKA. Sandwiches were dry, and don't get me started on the cornbread….like eating a handful of sand. The mac and cheese gets ? ?. For a place with such high ratings, I was surprised to have such a poor experience.

Some of the worst food I've had. Cornbread is cold. Brisket is almost all fat. Beans tasted microwaved. Coleslaw tasted old. Terrible food. Do not waste your money here. Only positive is the girl that served me was nice.

If you are only doing carry out it would be nice if you would put that on your website. Came through a few years ago and really enjoyed your restaurant. Drove 3 hours to get here. Very disappointed.

Great place. We recently moved from Seattle to Iowa City. Our favorite place. Great barbecue meat and drinks. One star for the owner who wants to close the place. So sad and disappointing. Just do something to keep this wonderful spot in Iowa City. Strain your brain cells. It is a great location and service and food, and if something is missing, put some thinking instead of sending us to North Liberty.

We ordered food to be Door dashed to university of Iowa hospital. I live in illinois and looked this place up. Our friend who has been hospitalized for over a month said the food was awesome!! The door dash guy had issues on where to go and was hard to understand but the food got there finally.

Amazing food! I grabbed the Mac n cheese and an Oinks Lemonade! Mac n cheese came with bacon. And my server? FABULOUS!! So helpful with the menu and drinks! Such a sweetheart!

Good meats, good sides, good atmosphere. The photo attached is $40 worth of food.

My wife and I shared the picnic plates. We added collared greens and Mac & cheese. It was all good. We went at a slow time so service was super fast. They also played a very nice collection of blues music. It was like nirvana for me.

One of the best happy hours in downtown Iowa City. Weekdays and weekends 3-6pm and bonus happy hour 9-12am! Awesome bbq. Trivia on Monday nights at 8pm. Ask for Luke he will tend to your needs all night long ?

Where was this place when I was going to college in Iowa City? Mosley's is a nice addition to the Iowa city food scene, especially when pizza and burger places are a dime a dozen. My friend and I stopped in on a Friday night and sampled some pulled pork, bbq chicken, baked beans and slaw, and everything was good, especially the pulled pork and the baked beans. We also had some good local brews and a little bourbon to go with our food. The restaurant was laid out well, long tables and a long bar, with good service and good prices. I was disappointed that they were sold out of the ribs, but we got there late, so that was on us. Everything we tried was legit, keep up the good work Mosleys, it's about time IC got some decent BBQ.

So delicious Our waitress was so kind and amazing. The beer and food was absolutely amazing! Highly recommend The Mosley which is a pulled pork sandwich.

Suffers with Iowa City Meh! Sandwiches were good. Sides, well… potato salad other than being fridge cold had the same flavor as water, tasteless, Coleslaw was mass produced bog standard, sadly drowning in its dressing, Mac &Cheese screamed packet variety. Fries not an option. Overall sandwiches decent but in my opinion poor to not great options for sides. Will I go there again? Not by my choice.

Smoked chicken was good, potato salad was.not and neither was any variation of their BBQ sauces
