My recent visit to Pancheros in Iowa City left me extremely dissatisfied. Not only was I charged double the expected amount, but the quality of the burrito was disappointingly low.When I brought the issue to the staff's attention, they refused to provide the service I rightfully expected. This experience was frustrating and has left a negative impression. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and addresses these issues promptly. Overall, an unfortunate and frustrating visit.

I’ve lived in the Iowa City area my whole life, I was introduced to panch before I even knew what chipotle was so I say this with a somewhat heavy heart. DO NOT go here this is consistently the worst pancheros that I have ever been to. Even though you think they would care about this place because it’s the first location they don’t, not even in the slightest. Not to mention the staff, I’ve worked in service my whole life so I tend to be more forgiving to service staff because I’ve been there and I get it, but I have never seen a more incompetent staff than the people that work at this pancheros. Don’t waste your money here if you want a good burrito in Iowa City just go to Estella’s heck even Chipotle, but don’t go here it will forever ruin your impression of pancheros.

not only did it take long for my order on Sunday, but I saw a short overweight employee with long blonde hair and a hat who gave a tall man who I assumed to be his friend four burritos for FREE! this had me mad because I have to pay $50 to feed my kids and this man gets four for himself for free. The manger seemed to have the whole place in a mess, get you act together Pancheros.

in 1998, this place was awesome. They were the legendary home of the two pound burrito. They had like 40 items on the menu and every one of them was delicious.in 2009, this place ranks among the worst taquerias i've ever been to. There are 5 items on the menu. The meat is either dry or undercooked, and often gristly. Their guacamole, a dish that's really hard to screw up too bad, is too salty. The service is generally unpleasant. Not that they're rude, but it's like they don't care if you're there or you're not.Edit: it's now 2023. The home location of pancheros is absolute garbage. The only reason it survives is because drunks will pay anything to get out of the cold for 10 minutes. Awful food. Awful service. I hope the whole chain goes bankrupt.

Tried to pick up an order I had placed through the app. Was ignored for the 15 minutes I was there, cashier didn't look at me at all despite trying to get her attention multiple times. After going to the beginning of the line, found out my food hadn't even been started. Acknowledge customers in the pickup line, there's probably a reason they ordered ahead of time.
These people are jokes! We ordered a burrito and they delivered us Chip and a coke! People are working hard for their money. You cannot play with people money like that. Also we have been calling over 10 times and no one is answering. Bunch of college student working there and just fooling around. You don’t realize that you’re messing up the establish that someone worked so hard to build up. You don’t have a company so you don’t know how hard it is to run it just to see immature people ruin it. They need to be fired. This isn’t for the first or second time. I’m really disappointed because you would expect better. I’m not leaving this matter alone until these individuals are dealt with.

seems heavily understaffed here. lobby is dirty but can you blame the 3 employees on shift during a busy day? employees are nice. but they have a heavier work load due to understaffing and uneven work

It seems that this store and on riverside drive have a problem with cleanliness. Dried crusted food on the hot wells and none of the employees washed their hands after going back and forth from back to front and after running the register. The queso was runny as milk and they were out of chips. And for all this the prices go up. Nice work!Parking: If it's busy, good luck!

Pancheros is usually pretty good. Today, instead of making food on the food lines. Multiple staff members were more interested in eating what looked like grilled cheese sandwiches in the food prep area.Was not greeted as staff scrambled to hide their food or stuff it in their mouth. They couldn't talk if they wanted too.Will not return as along as the staff working the 11 AM shift are present.

Panchero’s is a never fail choice. Had a cousin here from Minnesota who is gluten intolerant….. she ordered the burrito bowl instead of a burrito and was able to forego the bread!
