Went here for the first time a few days ago. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. Had a Thai dish I was not familiar with. It was delicious. I would definitely recommend it.

Ordered delivery through grubhub and the food is terrible. Chicken is so hard and the egg fooyoung is barely made with eggs. It tastes like mostly flour. What a rip off!

Ordered for delivery, on several occasions. Best chicken fried rice, egg rolls, and egg drop soup I’ve ever had! Will definitely have to dine in soon.

This is a great place to get some good oriental food! Big portions, great tasting, and convenient (if you live in Johnston). But I will say- when we were at the place, there was dust and dead bugs all over the window seal… kinda gross!?Also, our first time in was a hot summer day and it felt like maybe the AC was off or not working, which made eating in feel like a spa house. It’s winter as I write this, but I hope they got that fixed!

I've ordered delivery from here once and only once because upon opening the bag I found several live roaches in it. Absolutely disgusting.

Good prices for Great food. Kung POW made right. Real chili oil if you like it hot. Egg drop soup is thick and flavorful and the egg roll is crunchy not greasy.

I must confess I am a Cashew Chicken snob! I come from Springfield, MO, (Where Cashew Chicken was invented) and I love the meal there. That being said, I was excited to hear finally, after 23 years of living here. Someone had listed on their menu, "Springfield Cashew Chicken". I will say it is close, but not exactly there yet; but they are better than anyone in Iowa I have tried, (And I have tried a lot! Ha).Ok, here we go; this place is very nice, clean, service was very good (and always smiling). The food was Hot, fresh, generous portions, and delicious. This is my new spot for Chinese food, for lunch and dinner.

This is the second time the food is over an hour late. They tell you one time and it's late. Not because they're busy, but because they forget about delivering it. Never again!

Fast, friendly service. The food was very very fast. Ordered two dishes and they were out within 10 minutes. The food were tasty and flavorful. The orange chicken was awesome, however, it lacks chicken. Just alot of fried fillers (breading). The chicken fried rice was very good. The hot and sour soup was delicious. I do not recommend the egg roll or crab rangoon. The egg roll was one of those processed factory made eggroll. It was soggy, mushy, oily, and super gross.Overall, it's above average for fast Chinese. However, I probably won't try it again.

We moved to the Des Moines area about 8 years ago and have tried to find an Asian restaurant that could come close to our favorite one in Ohio. I think we’ve gone to every Asian restaurant in the Des Moines area, always walking away disappointed.FINALLY! China Cafe is now that restaurant! Our food was hot, flavorful, and the best we’ve had in 8 years. We are thrilled to have found a neighborhood restaurant that hits all the right tasty buttons!Today China Cafe, you gained two new customers!

The beef in the dish I ordered had a strange taste and consistency and should have been a red flag. 1-hour after returning home, the effects of food poisoning started. To be polite, it was a long miserable night and my sides still hurt.In speaking to the owner by phone, he explained he was a "chemist" and made certain everything was done properly, and that I must have already had the problem. He showed no sympathy, gave no apology, and seemed unconcerned when told he'd lost our business as a result of the incident.Zero Stars
