What a gem! We had the pork belly buns and wings for apps, both were fantastic. The entrees were also amazing. The bartender was also our server; he was super friendly and made great cocktails. We will be back next time we’re in town.

I really enjoy visiting this place. Their steam buns hold a special place in my heart, though I wish they put more pork belly in it!! I’ve had their steak sandwich too and it is absolutely delish. Next up is gonna be their ramen. Service is always really great here. The waiters and bartenders are super nice. Their Malbec wine is wonderful as well. The only drawback is that it’s pretty expensive I feel. But the atmosphere and service make the prices worth it!

One of a kind restaurant.As you enter, you'll be greeted with some amazing ambiance. The drinks are great and the food is very good! The bathroom is very well kept, too. Proud to have a restaurant like this in our town. No need to drive further. I highly recommend this place for dinner date or family dinner.

What a cool restaurant! First off, the interior is amazing. The funky clash of decor is such a fun vibe. The menu is also very diverse. A lot of fusion foods and interesting combinations and despite the small menu, there’s something for everyone. Our waiter was very patient and helpful as well!Our table ordered the fish and chips, steak sandwich, steamed buns, side mac, the special of the day which was a bacon wrapped cod, and the cookie skillet.For the good: The fish and chips were off the charts. Probably some of the best I’ve had and very fresh. My FIL had the steak sandwich and must have loved it because I looked down one minute and up the next and he had already finished it. They have a great happy hour drinks special which we got in on and I got their house margarita which was very good. Strong and very acidic and heavy lime flavor, which is perfect imo.For the not-so-good: Unfortunately, the special of the day seemed undercooked. Since it was bacon wrapped and bacon and white fish cook at very different speeds, the fish was tough while the bacon was fatty and floppy. The texture was bad and didn’t taste great. We actually sent it back and ordered a different dish. But they were very nice about this and accommodating. The side coleslaw that came with the fish and chips was awful. It tasted somehow like raw pumpkin. I don’t know how but it was bad. The steamed buns were so good but the amount of meat was so small it was hardly present- definitely lacking filling. Mostly bun and sauce. And while the cookie skillet was delicious, its size is deceiving. It appears large in the dish but when you dig in it’s paper thin. We thought it would feed our table of four easily but it was really just a few bites worth of cookie. Probably better shared by two.Where there was a lacking, it surely made up for it in other areas. The food that was good was REALLY good and what wasn’t didn’t feel like too big of a miss because we either replaced it or it was just a side. Overall would love to return and explore this menu! A very cool place for downtown Marion!

Cocktails here are amazing! The food was decent, but have I mentioned the cocktails? Will definitely be back and will try some more options of food. Not a huge fan of the noodle salad.

Worst dining experience in all of Marion. Prices are bad enough as it is, but if you have any intention of getting happy hour you better be ready to be fully taken advantage of. Their happy hour "deal" used to be that select drinks were $1-2 off, but the fine print (literally the smallest on the page) stated that during happy hour the base price of drinks is INCREASED, so it amounted to no discount. Their new way of screwing you over is to have a "buy one get one for $1" deal, in which they make you one drink and split it into two glasses with as much ice as possible, effectively just charging you an extra dollar. Not only that, but they have a habit of charging more than the listed price for things in the hope that you won't notice when you get the bill. Food is decent but not worth the prices by a long shot. We'll never be back and don't recommend anyone else does either, but if you do you better be careful not to get screwed over too bad.

If I could give a 10 star instead of only a 5 star this place would have it. OMG, the food here is out of this world good. The coupon we had did the job. It got us in the door then we met Mat. Very personable!We started with a Baked Cheese Bread. Cheese blend, pickled mushrooms, herbs, lemon zest baked bread. It was extremely good. Mouth watering goodness.I had a house salad and the homemade raspberry dressing it was fabulous.I had a steak sandwich sliced roast sirloin, provolone, arugula, bearnaise, sauteed mushrooms, sauteed onions on multi grain bread. The steak was very tender and juicy cooked to perfection. It was extremely good.My husband had Le Shmashburger two ground beef patties, Velveeta, banana peppers, savory demi glaze, fancy tartar sauce on a brioche bun. My husband's eyes literally rolled to the back of his head with delight. My husband said this burger was a high quality burger it did not taste like it just fell off the delivery truck.Our waiter Mat was amazing and such a great bartender.

Four of us ate at hip-stir for lunch on St Paddy’s Day for the first time. The Corned Beef and Cabbage was outstanding! Make it a permanent add to your menu! We had fish and chips, the hip-stir burger and the turkey club. Everything was delicious. The prices were good and our server was friendly. We will certainly return to try other items on the menu.

Because home reno left us kitchen-less we ate at Hip-Stir twice this week. Our server at lunch was the most friendly, helpful engaging individual! I had the fish and chips, which were ample and superb, with subtle but unique and delicious seasonings in the batter. My husband had a Cajun shrimp pasta dish that was also excellent. Last night we returned for burgers and beer. We enjoy being seated in the big barrel booths, and love the cozy atmosphere in general. We each had the Le Smashburger -- and it was to die for! It must be something about the Demi glacé mingling with the tartar sauce and melted Velveeta (I *know*! But trust me.) Paired with ReUnion amber ale it was just delightful (good fries, too). Later, at home my husband said, "that was possibly the best burger I've ever had in my life!" I said, "Get outta my head!" because I was *just* thinking the same! Still thinking about today, cuz we each brought home a half and will love it for lunch!

my boyfriend and i had a late lunch there on saturday. menu was simple. we ordered wings as an appetizer which was really good. my boyfriend got the burger with the egg and i got the shrimp pasta dish. both were prepared well and service was good and fast as well. we will definitely be back.
