I have gone to this place several times and anything I try is homemade and delicious.The staff is very friendly and the decor of the place reminds me of a grandma's house where I am having her homemade treats. It is comforting and clean. Would recommend!

We have tried a variety of their bakery items & they are all wonderful! We especially like the cinnamon rolls & scotcharoos! The staff is great and so helpful and friendly! They are the best! We also LOVE that they offer gluten free items for those times that we need them! Thank you Kettel House!❤️

Very personable place. If you have a sweet tooth, this is a must place to stop. They have breakfast offerings, but you just cannot beat the cinnamon rolls. They have kolaches, pies, brownies and many other items to satisfy your dessert addiction.

We're passing through Marion, IA for a day (to see a concert in Cedar Rapids) and found a great coffee shop, but missed out on its pastries. A quick Yelp search sent us to Kettel House. What a great find. Had apple and cherry turnovers and a cinnamon roll. All fresh and tasty! If you like quality, artisan baked goods (nothing against the glazed donut/cream filled donut crowd) this is the place to go in Marion. The folks behind the counter were super friendly and made us feel good about stopping by. Finding it threw me for a second, though. They are in a house in what looks like a normal housing neighborhood. The sign is under the eaves and it's set back front the sidewalk under a nice shade tree. If you don't see it at first, look again. You'll be glad you did.

They’re only open in the mornings and close earlier than other “breakfast-centric” places.West-End Diner, for example, is open until 2:00 and is open more days of the week. Likewise, Feedwell (another breakfast joint) is open every day of the week until 2:00 pm.Bottom line: fantastic treats and delectable goodies. You’ve just got to catch them when they’re open.

Edit: Tried going again because I really wanted a chicken pot pie but I guess Kathy's Pies bought them out and now the place is totally different and not in a good way. The pot pie definitely wasn't the same, it was bland and just gross. They used to have all kinds of baked goods, bars, brownies, cookie, lemon bars, little loaves of specialty bread, and all that is gone now. It's incredibly sad to see how much it's gone downhill. I wish it would go back to the way it was.Great food, if you haven't tried their chicken pot pie, you are missing out!! Awesome people too!

This place is beyond awesome! I went there today for the first time and I was pleasantly impressed by how friendly the service was. That alone would have earned it 6 stars (forget only 5!). Then I had the food and OMG... I’m in love! I didn’t know I could love a polish wrapped in dough so much lol. I look forward to my next visit! ????????????
