Simple place, authentic Mexican food. Take out only, but they have a couple of picnic tables outside. Perfect place to BYOB.

I hope this place is inspected and licensed, it looks like someone's house. Smells pretty bad from outside

The food was okay. Not the best but not the worst. No real seating, as the restaurant is more like a taco truck, with only a window for ‘to go’ orders. The staff was friendly and spoke enough English to take your orders. The food was mediocre. I’d stay away from the tamales (pork and chicken) , as they were microwaved and dried out. The Grande size burrito is almost two full meals and was good. The tacos were extremely small, on tortillas not much bigger than coaster. I think the burritos are the most bang for you buck here. All in all, it isn’t bad, but with so many other Hispanic restaurants in Marshalltown I won’t be rushing back to this one.

I don't like leaving bad reviews but frustration brings me here. It seems I have about a 50/50 chance of getting what I ordered these days. For the last dozen or so times I've taken out from Maria's, I've ordered a plain old buritto with ONLY beef, cheese and sour cream and get what I ordered about half the time. I even explain I don't want rice, beans, lettuce, etc and I'm really nice when I order, but tonight I got the vibes she didn't care what I wanted. Which is probably why I find myself tonight eating a beef burrito with everything on it. I'm giving up and going elsewhere. Please listen to your customers and understand what the word 'only' means.

Nice and good tasting tacos the orchata excellent

Honestly, the asada tacos were terrible. Tasted like the meat had been cooked the day before and then sold. Lady in the window wasn't very friendly either.

Chicken quesadilla is delicious! And thanks for the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe in the entrance!

Adobada pork tacos were sour and asada were not great.
Tacos were very very good, but the tamales were the star! Excellent and I will be back for sure next time I am in Marshalltown.
tamales, burritos + tacos are consistently delicious, I can't go to Marshalltown without getting lunch here!
so good, always super nice
Amazing food for an amazing price
