We stayed at the hotel which was clean, comfortable and quiet. The room was huge and very nicely appointed. Bed was comfortable and it was nice to have a recliner chair in the room.Delicious, fresh breakfast in a homey atmosphere!

90 minute wait for 2 steaks and 2 Apps Prioritizing a 6 top over a whole 3 tables with patrons in the entire restaurant. Watered down drinks, Tough and small steaks with very little sauce doused with herbs. 136 dollars and 2 half eaten steaks later.

We went there as a recommendation and because it seemed like a really nice looking restaurant, low lighting nice tables and steak. Since we were in the Midwest we figured it to be a good choice for a nice upscale dinner. Well... the service was okay at best. The steak was the worst! And we were paying top dollar for Marshalltown. We all ordered NY Strip cooked medium. Mine was medium well, the worst part was that it was maybe 1 inch thick and full of fat and loaded with grizzle. Not at all what we expected. It was extremely disappointing! Everyone knows a true well made NY Strip steak should be 2 inches thick and little to no grizzle. The steaks were 40 percent grizzle. I can say they had good flavor but that's it. The ambiance was not really as nice once you took a look around. Certainly not nice enough for a restaurant charging $40-$50 for steak.

Had lunch here today, what a welcome treat! Ordered the most delicious Reuben with potato salad and iced tea. The staff were so attentive which I greatly appreciated. The proprietor even brought me a fresh watermelon ? slice. With our first Raigbrai experience the week has been kind of rough. Thank you for the extra care today, it was needed. ❤️ If the hotel was available we would stay but it’s fully booked.

The room was nice. The water pressure in the shower wasn't very good. I would have given 5 stars if the room had its own coffeemaker and a mini fridge. An elevator would have been great! But hey! We all need a reason to work out at least a little. The location was good. Walking distance to Zenos *big smile*. But the weekend traffic on Main Street was a bit loud considering the headboard of the bed was up against the window facing Main. I'd stay there again if I could have a room farther from the road.Rooms: Clean and spacious.Nearby activities: Plenty of restaurants and bars in walking distance.Safety: It's nice that only guests can enter any part of the hotel portion.Walkability: Same as nearby activities.Food & drinks: We didn't try the affiliated Casual Fine Dining nor the Grille. But I DO NOT recommend the Fiddle and Whistle (supposedly not affiliated). It was NOT an Irish Pub as they claim to be. And their customers leave critters on the toilet seats. NASTY.

What a quaint, peaceful, and relaxing place. This hotel has comfort and cleanliness as a standard. The insitu fine dining restaurant and grille covers breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The owners are very outgoing and approachable. Will highly recommend staying here while in Marshalltown.

After being served the waitress never came and checked on us. The prime rib sandwich was bland and only had meat on the sandwich. My Cobb salad was very small with deliham and pre-cooked chicken with buffalo sauce squirted on it it was not good at allFood & drinks: The food was terrible and so was the service

Family favorite, breakfast is my favorite from here. Fresh ingredients best coffee in town hands down! Lunch is decent as well. They open in a separate side for dinner, less casual, seasonal menu. Never disappointed with food or service. We have also stayed in the hotel above. 10/10 recommend.

The experience was great as always. The food was good, and we wouldn't trade the atmosphere for any restaurant. Thank goodness they are in Marshalltown.

I don't know why people rate this place high. I've had better breakfasts at the free hotel places. No flavor. The 6 potato pieces that came with the omlete had no flavor at all. Green peppers in omlete were barely cooked. Coffee was good but have no options for dairy free or gluten free.
