Visited on high recommendation of a friend. We were impressed by the exceptional food, value, atmosphere and service. Our group tried several items on the menu and thoroughly enjoyed everything. It may have an unassuming appearance from the street, but step inside and be delighted! Calm, attractive dining space. Menu is very diverse, offering loads of options and VERY reasonably priced, especially for the huge portions! Fresh bright flavors and lovely presentation. We live in the Crandic corridor and consider this one of our favorite restaurants in the Iowa City/Cedar Rapids area. Just a joy to dine here.

This is my family's favorite Chinese restaurant in the area. My favorite Chinese dish is General Tao's Chicken and normally when I get it the breading on the chicken is soggy. I've never had this problem here. The chicken is always crispy and the sauce is perfect. We've ordered take-out a couple times and it has always been perfect.

Excellent food, excellent service. Happy Hour 1/2 price egg rolls, spring rolls, and crab rangoons. All piping hot and delicious. Tried General Tso’s chicken, sesame chicken, and Mongolian beef. Each entree was fantastic! Generous portions, very reasonably priced. Will go back!

My Mom, Grandma and I ate here for my Grandma's 92nd birthday in January. It was amazing. The food was great the staff were really friendly and helpful and even gave my Grandma a special treat for her birthday. We have recommended this place to everyone we know!

We have officially found our new favorite Chinese go to restaurant. I was so sad to see Yang Chow Wok close but am very very please with the quality and flavor of Taste Place. The Mongolian beef is so fantastic, as well as the several other dishes we got. We will be coming here much more often. I highly recommend!!!!

Let me start by saying this is one of the first Asian restaurants I've been to that if you ask for extra extra spicy, you better mean it! I appreciate that when we said we wanted it as spicy as possible, they almost made us regret those words! That, out of the way, this is the best Asian food in the area! The Mongolian beef is immediately one of my favorite dishes I've had in Iowa. The spicy chicken was so perfectly crispy, and the beef was just pure deliciousness! The restaurant is smaller but doesn't feel crowded. The food all came out fast, especially the appetizers, which I'll admit were a bit lackluster compared to the main dishes. I'll avoid the dumplings in the future, but the pot stickers were decent. I won't be coming for the appetizers though because oh my those main dishes are amazing
Everything I’ve had here has been very flavorful and tastes fresh, homemade and totally authentic. It really is excellent, I plan to be a regular customer, it’s worth the drive for me from Iowa City.

Brought my family here because we were all craving Chinese. Since moving here, we haven’t found one that compares to our hometown. This one not only rose to the occasion, but surpassed our expectations! The decor is very simple yet classically elegant. Our server was amazing, very personable. My 16 year old is learning mandarin and he was impressed by her. The menu!!! Wow! They include pictures of everything with a disclaimer that food may not appear like the pictures. I loved this feature! Made it easy for us to choose what we wanted. Additionally, everything we ordered was picture perfect. And the portion size, woah! We had leftovers for three days. The Taste Place is a lovely gem in North Liberty, I do think you’ll get more of an experience by actually eating there and not doing take out, it was fantastic and we will definitely be back!Parking: Located in a strip mall with plenty of parkingKid-friendliness: My kids were well taken care of and entertained there.
