The food was made to order and hot. They have been in business for a long time and the owner is very nice and a super hard worker. The food is worth the wait! You are missing out if you don’t stop in!
My "go-to" place for a fried pork tenderloin, well worth the 40 minute pilgrimage from Des Moines which in of itself is a pleasant drive (bonus: take the St Charles exit off I-35 and see one of Madison County's covered bridges). We found this to be such an inviting, down home place that after downing a hearty, hand-breaded tenderloin sandwich, we stayed and played cards with a couple of regulars with whom we shared one of the several communal 8 foot dining tables. Quaint little small town diner with old time atmosphere and delicious food! Lots of locals eat here so you know the food is going to be good!BUT....IT IS CASH ONLY! And well worth the trip to go try what they have to offer! I will definitely go back and try the burger next!
