Lovely dinner date with my husband. Ginger was an excellent server and made sure our experience was exceptional. The food was unique and delicious-the chef has made some traditional favorites his own and enhanced our enjoyment by making it an adventure in new things. Filet was perfect in the French Onion soup pairing, melt in your mouth! I don't think I've enjoyed a baked potato that much in years-lavish amount of butter made it better! Will return again-definitely worth the short drive from Iowa City to have top notch food.

We chose to celebrate our anniversary at Ruthie's. We love going to the casino, but had never tried it. Reservations were easy, and when we arrived, we were immediately seated. Andy was our waiter, super nice, checked in but not so often that it would be annoying. We placed our drink order, then made our menu choices. Our drink was served very fast. We were the only ones in the place. Andy took our order and we visited awhile. Bread w three toppings were served, bread was delicious! Next our steaks and baked potato arrived. Andy asked us to cut into our steak and check for the correct doneness, mine was fairly red, but the other end was cooked perfectly. We then turned to our potato. Huge potatoes, served on a separate plate with butter and sour cream. The potato was underdone. And there is no way they didn't know it! My husbands arrived severed into two complete halves, he tried to stick his fork in it and it was raw and cold! Gah! Mine was sliced half way, again who ever cut into it had to know it was not cooked. Ruined the whole dinner, We ate half our steaks and a few bites of the edge of our potatoes and called it a night. VERY DISAPPOINTED! For the price, $8 for a potato, you'd think they would be able to serve a hot, Completely cooked potato!!!

We have never been to Ruthies, so we decided to celebrate our Anniversary there this year and made reservations.We expected it to be slow and it was for a Tuesday at 5. We were seated immediately and our waiter, Andy was wonderful. The Drink was served immediately after we ordered it, and our dinner order was next. Delicious bread was served. We both got a steak and a baked potato. We're older and just can't eat several courses any more. Our food arrived and Andy asked us to check the doneness on our steaks, they were acceptable. I like my steak medium, ordered medium done and it was medium rare. My husband also ordered medium well, and his was actually a medium. Acceptable. Not perfect. At $57.14/lb for ribeye steak it should have been perfect! I noticed immediately that things were odd. My husbands baked potato was severed completely in half, I've never seen a baked potato served that way, usually it's sliced partially thru the center, then opened like a pocket. Nope, two ROCK HARD COLD halves lying on the plate. I could tell from across the table it wasn't cooked, it looked raw! Some one had sliced into my potato, about 1/3 the length, all the way thru the other side, again, I have never seen a baked potato served this way. Mine was so undercooked that I could barely cut in to it! The butter wouldn't even melt! We were Sooooo disappointed. We won't go there again, it's sad that such a nice looking place was so bad.

From the moment we walked in the hostess was very nice and our server Andy was just terrific?. The ambience Is quiet and subdued, just how we like it. I can't say enough about the lobster bisque and the baked French onion just phenomenal. My wife had the fillet, and I had the ribeye which both were cooked to perfection.(delicious)Ruthie's Is on my list as one of my favorites, and it should be on yours as well. Kudos to the staff, 5 stars.

Whenever I visit family I always enjoy dining at the best steakhouse in the area. I prefer upscale dining when going out for a steak and Ruthie's has always delivered a great experience. The attention by our wait person Ginger was superb and we'll be booking her table again! For the food, my mother and I had the filet and ribeye, which were prepared to perfection and the shareable sides were more of the same, but too much! We are already talking about our next visit.

My Godfather & I went to dinner here on a Tuesday night. It was fairly busy. We had a great time and the food was amazing. We started out with the Caesar salad & Mussels with clams and chorizo. We also ordered the bacon wrapped filet lollipops, paved smoked gouda potatoes, stuffed lobster and the scallops over polenta. Our tummys were so full we couldn’t order dessert. The pace and timing of our dishes was perfect. Our server was Paige who was quite helpful and sincere. She checked on us throughout our meal to ensure we were pleased with our choices. She even used a crumber to remove the crumbs on our table. What a great evening
