Okay disappointed; first the side salad tasted like unwashed greens - chemical taste. The catfish was way too blacked to burnt. The salmon tasted old and not a good combination on bread.? And the service was arrogant. Very dark so I couldn’t hardly read menu.

March 16, 2024 - Urban Grill is alway on. We had a party of 11 and our server, cute gal with darling ponytail was up to the challenge. Our table had onion rings, artichoke dip and chicken strips for appetizers. All delicious. I had a Urban Stuffed Chicken with rice as my side. This is my favorite and a tossed salt with balsamic. Others in our group had chicken carbonara, fish tacos, stuffed filet, french dip, sea bass, everyone left very happy. This is one of my favorite restaurants on the planet. Oh the drinks, had a variety there too ranging from Chardonnay, beer, lemonade, mules and all we delicious and served just right. Thanks Urban Grill for another lovely evening!

This might have been the most bland food I’ve ever eaten. First, the side salad had 1 slice of cucumber, 1 wedge of tomato, and 2 slices of onion. Balsamic dressing tasted like pure vegetable oil.Sirloin steak was overcooked and no flavor. Reminded me of a Perkins/Denny’s style steak. Brussel sprouts had no season or flavor as well. Horrible food. Wasn’t sure if I had temporarily lost my taste or if the food was truly that bland. It indeed was that bland. Total cost was about $22.Service and atmosphere were great.

Love this place! The food is amazing. Service was a little rushed and less than attentive last week when we went in on a Wednesday night. Took 30 minutes to get a table but food was worth the wait!

We really enjoy having drinks and dining at Urban Grill. I'm thinking Urban Grill represents the epitome of fine dining in Urbandale. Unpretentious, clean and nicely furnished - which is pretty much the way Urbandale is. Very pleasant wait staff (still smiling after 8:00pm), drinks are served perfectly, never watered down, the chicken tortilla soup and side salads are delicious, as are the steak, seafood and pasta entree dishes. I like the Cajun Pasta, and my wife enjoys ordering chicken breast or a small sirloin - burnt to Hell - which is just the way she likes it, right? Nice mix of well-mannered customers that thoughtfully keep their electronics under control. I do take a phone with a flashlight so I can see the menu, it's sort of dark, my wife says it's me. Whatever. Tip generously if you agree.

Service was mediocre. The drink I had was delicious! I also had a grilled chicken salad. The chicken tasted like it was a week old. Really hard and cold. Only giving 3 stars because my drink was pretty good. Other than that this place was nothing special.

Honestly food was a little expensive, but then where isn't it. The food was excellent, some of the best food I've had in a long time. Service was wonderful, this too was some of the best service I've ever experienced.I will definitely go there again as there are more dishes I want to try. I recommend this restaurant to everyone.
