Food was great and the server was very attentive. It's a cash only establishment so keep that in mind before goin. It also gets VERY busy, and it's a small restaurant, so be patient and be kind and you'll have a delicious meal.

Friday night during Lent we were looking for a fish fry like we often go to back home. Came here on the basis of other reviews. When we arrived it really looked like a pretty "nothing" place amid old buildings awaiting demolition and the inside kind of fit with the outside and we wondered if we'd made a mistake ...but it was packed with apparent locals/regulars. The waitress was nice/funny and the food was exactly what we had in mind (and good examples thereof) with a few unfamiliar local touches and seldom encountered items*. Very good overall. Luckily we had arrived early as a long waiting line started to develop about 5:30 after we had already been served. Would eat here again.*e.g. pea salad, fried clam strips
Ok this place is awesome. It may not be for everyone, but if you want great fish this is the place.

I recently “rediscovered” the Cedar Valley Fish Market. The service is prompt, attentive and friendly. The food is fresh and delicious. And boy can they handle a crowd of customers. They have the best cole slaw around.
I usually don't rate a place unless it's five star and I can't see any reason not to give these guys five stars. Ive only been here 3 times but today I got perch sandwiches to go and at 4.15 each I expected like 2 or 3 strips of perch. These sandwiches were LOADED with perch and it didn't taste fishy at all which it shouldn't if it's handled properly. FANTASTIC! Also it was ready in under 10 min. and service is always above par. I always gravitate to the smaller "hood" spots they are always better.....always
We had cod and walleye dinners. It was very tasty. The service was great and all of the staff was friendly. We thought the hushpuppies could have used less flour and more cornmeal, but that is personal preference. They were well prepared. The servings were more than enough to satisfy and we came hungry. The root beer was good, too. We will come back and highly recommend others give it a try.
Great place, really great people working there, always really to help. Go most Friday nites!

Fish was cooked and served quickly. Good variety. Clean and lots of space between tables. Very comfortable atmosphere. It's an old building but it is the Fish Market. A staple of the Cedar Valley.
