We were coming through Waterloo, Iowa from St. Louis and pulled this restaurant up based off of the Google reviews. Rodney did not disappoint! We got Catfish, dinner, which included fried okra, greens, cornbread, and french fries. The portion sizes were hefty. Also, since it was Sunday, he was offering free beer, and or daiquiri. Which also included a free meal for the children. You can’t go wrong with this experience. Keep it up my Brotha!??Kid-friendliness: The kid’s eat free chicken, tender strips, and fries.

My family and I were driving out west from Chicago. We started looking for a place to get some lunch. Rodney’s Kitchen came up as a place that we should try. IT WAS NOT DISAPPOINTING! Walked in a immediately greeted by Rodney with a smile and friendly face. He took the time to Anwser our questions and recommendations of the menu. We went with his recommendation and it was amazing. We had shrimp po’ boy, brisket burger and the smoke pork sandwich. The smoke pork sandwich was the best pork sandwich I had in my life. Honestly everything was delicious. We would drive from Chicago to eat at Rodney’s Kitchen again.
We really enjoyed it. All our food was great. We had a group of 10 and he moved tables together for us. Being the only one working, he was very accommodating and quick with our food. Brisket burgers, shrimp po boys, and chicken strips were all enjoyed by our party.

Man the brisket burger was FIRE!! Highly recommended!! I have to come back and try the ribs/rib tips. Definitely gained a new customer that will visit often. I did want to try the crawfish poboy, but it was discontinued. Oh well, glad I tried the burger. Thank you for the great service also.

We were doing and I will road trip and was on our way home and I was getting close to lunchtime and my wife got on yelp and was looking for places in Waterloo area right away. She came across Rodney's kitchen and damn it was great. first I was gonna have the brisket sandwich but the catfish I've been hungry for catfish so we both had catfish and it was amazing. Rodney very nice. The place was nice and clean, enjoy talking to them I'd highly recommend it
