Fun time with our 11 YO grandson. Grill show was good but lacking tricks that we'd seen there before. Swordfish slabs were very thin and overcooked. They were cooked as long as other meats (steak, salmon, and chicken), which caused them to be dry. Cook was very good on checking for food allergies.

Reliably good sushi, I tend to get to-go and have a drink in the bar while I wait. Online ordering does not appear to work, calling sometimes goes to voicemail. But bar ordering is fast and the service is attentive while you wait. And when the restaurant is crowded the bar is usually not which if you're antisocial like me, you will like.

I ordered a ToGo order, drove 20 min. home to find out that I only had chicken in my meal and not steak, which I ordered both ( the chicken and the steak). I called the restaurant and after being on hold for 5 min. told them what happened. They told me the manager was busy and would call me back. I waited and no call, so the next day when they opened, I called back and spoke to the manager. He said he spoke with the chef of the night before and assured him there was steak in it. There was NOT. They would not do anything for me, I couldn't believe they would do business like this. Not return my call and then basically call me a liar. Wow. Ruined for life. Not to mention this meal was $33, so yeah I expected them to make it right.

Very neat place to ear. It was a great experience and the food was great. We went in a group and ate at the grill, the cook was fun to watch and made the experience very unique. I will be going back here.

I'll start out by saying I love sushi and have tried many different places. Many good, some just OK. Heck, I've had Sam's club sushi before. So when I was traveling through Waterloo with my grandson, sushi sounded good when we saw Tokyo Bay.We thought we'd just have sushi, but wanted an egg roll to get things started off. When the server came over she asked for our drink order, she seemed to have trouble understanding us and when we ordered the egg roll, she had no clue what we wanted and wanted us to point it out on the menu. (No, she wasn't Asian) She left and came back to take our order. We ordered all sushi, but when we told her what we wanted, she had us tell her the number, not the name of the sushi. She, once again, had trouble understanding our order. We then got our egg rolls, which were very good. Later, a different server came over with these fried balls of something. We said we didn't order it, she said we did. We said we didn't and she walked away. She came back a little later with our server and our other sushi and they demanded we ordered the balls and left them. The sushi wasn't bad, but not the greatest. We split one of the balls in half and tried a bite. Not sure what it was but we didn't eat any more. After we finished, our server came walking over with a bill in her hand. She picked up our soy sauce bottle, that was almost full, and walked away...but left no bill. Later she came back and set down a full bottle of sauce. She asked if we were waiting for something and we said 'Yes, the bill'. A while later, she finally came back with our bill...and a to-go box the the fried things we didn't order...but were on the bill. So $50 and over an hour later, we left. My grandson apologized multiple times for picking out the place. I told him no reason to apologize, it was a good idea for supper, the execution just stunk...but that wasn't his fault.

Eskimo Bay. The place was probably 30 degrees tops. Customers were huddled in blankets. We froze for about 45 minutes before the cook came out. The food was ok, the staff was courteous, but the HVAC situation was ridiculous. They need a heated air makeup system in the winter or to just close down in the winter.

Sushi was ok but not remarkable. Ordered the chicken hibachi and the soup and salad were actually really good.. however.. the chicken that I was served contained at least 4-5 tendon/cartilage pieces that I found on just about every other chunk of chicken that were absolutely inedible and completely ruined the otherwise tasty dish.. ate less than 1/4 of it before I was too put off by it to continue. Waitress was attentive enough and polite before but didn’t say a word when I showed her the inedible pieces and just walked away and got the check. I still boxed my food up and took it home because I payed for it but I’m not honestly sure I’ll even bother to pick through it the experience was so off putting. I didn’t want them to comp anything.. I understand things happen.. I was just letting them know so they could tell the kitchen about the issue to prevent other people from having the same experience.. but an apology or even just some indicator that she heard me or understood what I said would have been nice. Probably won’t bother going back to be honest, terrible first impression for sure.

The food wasn't bad in the slightest, but if you want better just go to Sakura in CF, this place is not worth it for what my experience was the first time I was there. Everything is sticky and grimey, the floor is slick and your chair slides around, there's food all over the ground that's clearly been gathering and hasn't been cleaned all day. And then there was the staff.Waitress was nice, friendly and gave plenty of refills, but the hibachi chef ruined what positivity was left in the experience by making racist and homophobic jokes, and repeating the same racist joke more then once. He even made a comment that he was surprised someone had walked out when he made that joke.Surprised that such an unprofessional chef is still employed at Tokyo. I used to go there all the time, and the quality and cleanliness has really gone downhill.Just go to Sakura if you want good food without the racist/homophobic jokes and menus and floors that aren't sticky or covered in food.

The service was very hands off, which was nice. The place was clean and very well decorated. The food was delicious and decently priced. My boston roll was delicious as was the miso soup.
