“This is the first time in a very long time I’ve had exceptional service at this subway. The staff was friendly, my sandwich looks great, and they just all around looked like they loved their jobs which is so refreshing to see at this location. The man making my sandwich was dancing and singing and just made the environment friendlier than I’ve ever experienced. Not sure if it’s helpful, but one man was bald and one had locs, they both were very friendly. This experience gave me hope in this location again :)“
“Such a cute deli. It has some historical features and feel when you sit down at one of the booths. This is a great lunch place. The go-to is the cheese supreme with a side of Miss Vicky’s chips & their DELICIOUS chocolate-peanut butter brownie. Pretty fast service, good food & a great lunch staple in DSM.“

I had the Corned Beef on Rye and it was the best corned beef I’ve had. The bread was super soft and absolutely scrumptious. “A month ago I went for the first time and it was great. Kids ham melt sandwich was yummy (I stole a bite from my kid) and my wrap was good. We went back and got pretzel bites and they were really greasy and looked... soggy? Service was still good. This time we dined in. I'd still go back but we will skip the pretzel bites.“

“We started out as a group of 5 adults and 1 18 month old headed to the Deli. Celebrating our son’s birthday, all of our other kids quickly joined in so our party of 5 1/2 became 10 1/2 really quickly.We went in around 2:30 on a Sunday afternoon.The staff was incredible and with it being our first time, everything from the arrival, entry, ordering, eating and finishing up was a first.We couldn’t have asked for a better experience! We will definitely be back.We ordered several things but were so busy visiting and eating we all forgot to get photos.Chicken tortilla soup, chili, huge various spuds, several deli sandwiches, kids pizza, macaroni, cheesecake and cookies/brownies. Strawberry tea, unsweetened tea….everything was a thumbs up and given a 10. The Cuban Sandwich could have had a little bit less mustard but honestly it was good.Thank you to all who took orders, cooked and prepped the food, the staff who brought our food out and who cleared the tables while also asking if we’d like refills-thank you!!!Your establishment would make a great model of what people want when they’re spending $$ for a good meal and good experience all around.“
“I've had a lot of Bahn-mis and this is up there with the best. Veggies are fresh, perfect little kick from some thinly sliced jalapeño, bread was crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. You know it's gonna be good when it's someone serving them from a kitchen connected to their home. $4 per is a steal. Cash only, took 15 minutes to have them made and there's a cool fish tank to look at while you wait! <3 <3“

“We arrived at around 5pm, on Friday October 6th. There were two employees working, a young man on the grill and a young woman working the register and assembling pitas. We were greeted promptly and told they’d be right with us and they were. They were both very friendly and professional. Our pitas were fantastic to boot! We’ve had numerous excellent experiences with these same two employees. They are consistently surpassing expectation. Keep them if you can!“
“First time at this location and it was easily the best Subway I've visited in over 10 years. Bread was soft and fresh, the sandwich was put together correctly and not falling apart. I can't begin to tell you how many times I've had subs with all the toppings falling out and making a huge mess, let alone the bread being hard, stale and crumbling. What a great sandwich! Finally, employees that take a little pride in their job. Keep up the good work!“

“I forgot to ask the young gentleman's name but I think he is a managerHe and the owners should be very proud of how well he treats customers and much more that he does to make sure everything is like the customer wants or needs it to be; plus he thinks about what else I would like and respectfully asks. I rarely see anyone anywhere that takes customer service to a level that he does. I used to own and operate two businesses and customer service was taken beyond what anyone could imagine but this was decades ago and I counted on Word of Mouth Advertising. When I see anyone that is this amazing or even close to this I let them know and I have let managers, supervisors and owners know even if it involves a phone call or email that I think someone is exceptional at what they do and at times I will say they have an old soul which doesn't always have anything to do with their age and my favorite part is what I call allowing their genuine selves shine through including a sense of humor.I understand that some people have to be professionals but if they are too professional , I say they have too much starch in their collar. I was a little disappointed related to how little is on a sandwich and that what is there doesn't spread to the ends of the buns but I do appreciate the quality and this was when he wasn't there.I asked him about something I needed to be a little different so the bread wouldn't be too crunchy/chewy and he did this to help me and understood that I am not able to chew as well as I used to be able to do and I understand why many people would like the bread to be like what makes it more difficult for me to chew.It is a nice atmosphere there.I ate quickly the last time due to I saw the open and closed hours for the first time and I clean up any mess but when I was struggling to walk with all the shopping bags hanging on my walker to exit the same way I entered the door was locked and I couldn't get anyone's attention so I had to go back across the restaurant, exit and squeeze everything through the vintage revolving door and I got stuck in there for a while.They were busy doing all required to close and there was some other customers that came in about 30 minutes before they close.Not Complaining, Just Explaining.Vegetarian options: I didn't have time to notice.Dietary restrictions: I feel sure they will do the best they can to help with this.I asked for what he had recommended previously and they did have the small disposable container of Balsamic Vinegar dressing to dip the sandwich in. It really adds to it.“
“Grew up in Ankeny and visited for the first time today. I was very surprised with the clean environment. The staff were friendly, polite and welcoming. Our food came out quick and it was delicious. We had a good lunch. The staff cleared tables quickly and it was apparent they took pride in working there. We will definitely be back!“

Called McAlister's to try to understand what was going on and Alex and the rest of staff went above and beyond making sure I got fresh warm food even though the issue was not at all their fault. “Newer, nice and clean store across from Ankeny Centennial high school. Stopped in to feed everyone after a choir concert. No problems along with good sandwiches makes for a pleasant experience. Would say it's worth a shot for a quick and good meal .“
“The women who run this line are so efficient and friendly. It can be packed at lunchtime and they move the line so fast and always with a smile!I’d recommend leaving stroller in the car but it could fit if needed. The parking lot has no painted lines so it’s a different configuration every time which is weird and confusing.“

We recently started getting lunch/supper there and have always been impressed with the taste of the food as well as the great customer service from all the employees !! “I love firehouse subs, and this location has always taken great care of me. All of the workers here are lovely people, especially the managers. I come here often during lunch since it’s near my work, and every time I’m greeted with friendly service and a “welcome to firehouse”. The quality of the food is consistent, and always delicious. Rarely do I ever have an issue with my order, but when I do it’s always been handled right away and the employees have gone above and beyond to make it right. These guys and gals at this location deserve to be noticed for the awesome jobs they’re doing!“
“Super clean and nice inside, awesome portions, and a lovely staff. I was worried about “cheating on” my usual banh mi place but this is so good! I had the vegetarian and was late picking it up and they were kind enough to rewarm it for me too.
