This has been our favorite restaurant to come to the past couple years. It’s helped get us through the pandemic with its fun casual atmosphere, great views, fun drinks (including the kids Shark Attack) and delicious crab. I even experienced a birthday there which was quite the “ride”! We are sad to hear a new restaurant will be taking over the spot. Glad we have our collection of souvenir glasses! Thanks to the crew at Joe’s for a great family experience. We will miss it.

I love this place. Most of the food is great, sometimes the fried food is a bit too commercialized and greasy, but this time we ordered the bacon wrapped stuffed shrimp and the stuffed flounder and they were amazing. The drinks are always fantastic and the river views are fantastic.

This was a nice place to eat. Nice view of the Greenbelt and river. The food was good, but not fantastic.

Very beautiful great food it was almost a perfect date except for staff we had to go ask for a menu then find someone so we could order

We were looking for steak and crab legs and ended up trying Joe's. My companion loved their pot of crab legs.I got the 8oz sirloin for $23. That was disappointing. The house salad tastes out of a bag. The steak was tough and could use some flavor and my plate was mostly broccoli. Services was fine. Good tunes and an amazing view of the river!

Great service, great food, and even better scenery! Everything about this Joe’s Crab Shack location is absolutely amazing. I had crab last night with my family, to celebrate my 25th birthday. Everything we ordered not only came right away—it was also cooked PERFECTLY. I am very satisfied with my experience there. I plan to go again when I can.

We enjoyed our meal! It was really rather tasty. I was surprised to see all the unsatisfactory reviews. It was so good, my husband and I plan to eat there again before we head home.

I haven't been here since I was a kid and I honestly didn't expect much of this place anyways. It wasn't my choice to go here. I ordered two drinks which were incredibly watered down and didn't taste like they had any alcohol at all. On my second drink I asked the waitress to have it remade because it clearly had hardly any alcohol in it and for I'm not drinking a cup of ginger beer for $10. She brought me a new one and it tasted exactly the same. She asked me if it was better and I said it was exactly the same and she said sorry. Didn't try to do anything else. I ordered the appetizer sampler because I thought it would be safe and the calamari was tough and so was the breading. The balls of fire were good though. My boyfriend ordered the seafood sampler and it was about the same quality as mine. $95 later... it was a big waste of money.

**update** (1/29/22)Went in for my birthday with some of the family. It's been a while since the last time so I was looking forward to a delicious meal and some family time. What happened? All of us who ordered steam pots agreed they were the absolute WORST we have ever had. The lobster claws were terrible. I've never had a claw I didn't like until that night. The extra lobster tail I added was rubbery. I fought the crab legs just to scrape out what little meat they had stuck to the inside. Potatoes were mush. I found 1 peice of a potato that was almost a full wedge. The shrimp were chewy. The sausage was edible.I have been let down. This was a good eatery but I guess COVID killed that.I would suggest the manager get out to the dining room and get some feedback from the diners.I know they would come out to check on groups before.Kinda glad I didn't order the steam pot for 2.The only good part was the seasoning. Could have used more broth to dip my garlic bread into.It may only be a matter of time before this Joe's crab shack is closed if y'all don't do something and do it soon!Pictures from 2 different visits I think it is obvious which one was from this visit.

While I want to say I was very excited to see this opportunity to try this restaurant, I was very disappointed. I thought to be safe I would try the appetizer sampler. The best thing on it was the fresh chips (tortilla). The clam rings were freezer dried, crab and shrimp dip was missing flavor and the scratch balls, no flavor either. So sad! A wonderful 10 star review would be the waitress. Very friendly and sweet!

Our server was amazing!!! The food was overcooked the shrimp was like jerky. The breading was thick and overcooked. I would not recommend and will not be back. This is the second time in a row that this locations food was subpar at best!

The waitress was amazing. However the food was horrible. I received the pirate platter. The grilled shrimp was jerky. The tilapia had no flavor and the breading on the breaded fish was so thick you couldn't taste the fish. I hate popcorn shrimp and it was the best thing on the plate. I was hoping for a good consistent restaurant but what I found was a place that needs to close its doors. RIP Joe's Crab Shak in Boise you are dead to me.

The food is subpar and I did not enjoy it. The soups taste like they are made from a can or a packet. I am sure a lot of people will like it. I just feel like a restaurant needs to provide great quality food as well as great quality service and the food was unremarkable at best. I gave s 3 because the people were really nice. Also, the entrance is a little unsafe because you have a wide area for wheel chairs and handicapped people in the center to walk to the door but when the sun is bright, it is hard to tell that the curb is different height in the middle then as you approach the higher curb. I recommend you paint it or put something to signify that the curb is not the same height. I am 67snd when I went in the summer, the sun was so bright I did not see the rise and I fell on my hands and knees. I did not say anything because I was embarrassed but somebody who does not fall as well as I do could be injured badly.

Always love coming in for some Steam Pots! The Cajun is a wonderful choice and great flavor. I tried the Passion Fruit Margarita and got to keep the cool tie dye shakers! Kids loved their dinners!
