Arrived around 8pm on a Tuesday and were promptly whisked off to the bar. We were served by the bartender, a bearded man with tattoos on his forearms. We never had a proper waiter - just the bartender guy who never smiled and seemed to want to be somewhere else. The food: this was good: ricotta ravioli w/ butter and hazelnuts - very rich. The bartender guy did tell us to save some of our focaccia bread for the pasta dish and he was right. Overall, the service seemed quite perfunctory and we didn't feel like we were taken care of. We will probably go elsewhere next time.

This place is a gem! Tonight was our second visit and, once again, we were blown away by the service and the food! The pasta is cooked to perfection and they serve VERY generous portions. Both times we've visited the wait staff did an exceptional job. So far we've tried their House Made Focaccia, Roasted Beets, Tavolata Salad, Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe (my fav!), Rigatoni, Pappardelle, and the Zeppole. ALL were perfection! Several reviewers were "put off" by the noise. Yes, it's on the. noisy side. BUT, the noise is from people having a lovely time at a wonderful restaurant eating fabulous food! In my view, a busy, noisy restaurant usually means a great place to dine! Until I return I will dream about that Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe!

Just WOW, the perfect martini, the best Ceasar salad I've had in years and then two of the most incredible pasta dishes I could wish for! Highly suggest the pappardelle and the Carbonara! It's a must visit!

Came here with my girlfriend and we both agreed each course we got from appetizer to dessert impressed and exceeded our expectations. We had the spaghetti and rigatoni and both were executed exceptionally, perfectly cooked pasta. Highly recommend the focaccia for appetizer and zeppole for dessert. Staff was very attentive and and friendly. Couldn’t ask for a better experience.

The romanesco appetizer was great and the ravioli pasta was amazing. The potato gnocchi had little flavor and the vanilla gelato was very eggy and lacked vanilla. Service was fairly slow as well. Will come back to try more dishes but was only 50% blown away by our first visit.

Our server was really sweet, which is why this is getting 3 stars and not 2. But the food was bland and SO salty. Nothing great at all. Doesn't taste fresh. Also, the runner tried to drop our entrees off and there was barely any room for the plates so we asked her to take our share plates and she stepped back with her hands up and said, I'm just the runner, and ran away. 10 minutes later, someone came to pick up our dirty appetizer plates.

This is the best Italian food I have had in this state, and it certainly compares to my 20 visits to Italy. The service was attentive, and very timely. My only disappointment was the front door. Greeter was pretty much a dick. He didn't understand that I came there for happy hour and did not need a reservation. Other than that, usually correctable error, the ambience was great, and the food was superb.

New restaurant in what appears to be an expanding chain from Seattle, I thought "what the heck" and walked in with my wife a few weeks ago. The large, well-decorated dining room does feel a little impersonal and it is definitely loud. It is, however, fun to watch the cooks laboring to make your dinner. My wife got beet salad-- the beets were pretty inelegantly cut into large chunks. Caesar salad-- I didn't mind the kind of grainy crushed croutons, they were kind of interesting, and the salad looked pretty fresh but lacked the flavor punch that I would like to taste. I got rigatoni and I know many prefer "al dente"... but mine skated up to the edge of tough. Obviously it couldn't have been all bad, since I ate it all! My wife didn't like her carbonara as much-- drenched in maybe more oil/butter than necessary. I think my 3 stars is really because of the service. Our waitress appeared almost totally indifferent. Did she do her job reasonably effectively? I guess so, but complete lack of eye contact made her look very distracted the entire time. It was not fun to be presented with the credit card machine and have to choose a tip amount while she looked on. So I don't know, maybe we'll try it again.

I went to celebrate my birthday last night at Tavolata. This place lives up to the hype. They do have a lots of seating but I would recommend to reserve it. Beautifully designed open kitchen concept you can see the chefs working.Food was amazing we had focaccia, semolina gnocchi and ravioli. The show stopper for us was the ravioli one of the best ravioli I have ever eaten. Amazing flavors great job with the flavor notes of sage, hazelnut, balsamic vinegar and olive oil. For dessert we had Zeppole kind of small donuts with chocolate they were good. The suggested cocktails were amazing.Shaq was our server hands down one of the patient server I have seen in Boise. He was soo patient in explaining our questions various top sellers he was awesome.I would definitely recommend anyone to make a visit to this place.

Yesterday had dinner at Tavolata and I have to say this was a great experience. Service was impeccable. Food was excellent. I myself can take or leave Italian food, but I have to say it was amazing. I had the Rigatoni was one of the best I ever had. Price point is also good. Thank You again.

This was an interesting experience for my husband and I. I have mixed emotions. The food is pretty good, the server was excellent, and I wish I could remember her name. One of the problems that I had was the desserts. I was greatly surprised that this Italian restaurant did not have Tiramisu. I bought one of each dessert to take home except for the ones that had ice cream. I did not like the desserts at all. They lacked flavor. This surprised me because if I understand correctly, they have a pastry chef. So, I am wondering if they allow the pastry chef to create her own desserts or does the pastry chef have to use their recipes. I do not recommend the desserts at all. I gave them three stars for the server. I am not sure I would go back. Pretty sad.

What a fabulous new addition to the Boise dining scene! The food and service was amazing. Our server Jen was fantastic. I loved sitting at the counter with a good view of the spotless kitchen.

Absolutely delicious. One of the best meals I've had in any Boise restaurant. I got the Ricotta Ravioli with Brown Butter, Hazelnuts, Sage, Aged Balsamic Vinegar, and Parmesan. We'll definitely be back to try more!
