Great bartenders who actually know how to make drinks. Awesome, chill atmosphere and great people, as all Boiseans are. ?

I happily call this an upscale dive bar. Quite small, but open late-ish and sometimes filled with more colorful, questionable characters.

Drinks are always on point. Although they've had the same drink menu for years now. Wish they would change it up.

The only negative thing about this place was the bouncer chain smoking cigaretts at the open door.

A cocktail bar? A utility bar? A craft cocktail bar? What's the difference and how does Atlas Bar fit in? After multiple visits I believe I can answer this question. If you're looking for a craft cocktail.... Look elsewhere. The liquor selection is very limited. The bartender knowledge is very limited and the inspiration is very limited. The price? Well, they believe they command craft cocktail prices. My experience could be summed up in my last visit. Me: can I get a Last Word? Bartender: What's that? Me: Gin, Luxardo, Green Chartreuse... Bartender interrupts: we don't have those things Me: Then I'll take a cognac old fashioned Bartender: We don't have that, the menu is up there sir! Not only does the bar staff lack knowledge of classic cocktails, they don't carry any more inventory than your classic utility bar you'd find in any neighborhood setting. The lack of interest in cocktail making, the random music (bartenders favorite songs) and general disinterest of the bartenders puts this bar squarely in the utility bar category.... But that's not what they're pretending to be. They command high prices and push the craft cocktail atmosphere. In my opinion, you'd be better served at other bars in town. For Craft cocktails, visit The Mode, The Modern Hotel, Owyhee, Red Feather, Press and Pony or one of the city's prohibition bars. For Utility bars, try Pengillys, Amsterdam, Hannah's. But my suggestion is to limit yourself to being disappointed in this place only once. It doesn't get better the more you visit.

I went to the Atlas this weekend visiting family, it was awesome. Jake was great and Nick was maybe the best bartender I have ever met, lately when i go to a craft cocktail bar, "mixologist's" are kind of boring and lack personality. Nick on the other hand is a real bartender, he was absolutely the funniest bartender I have ever met, it was like me and my girlfriend were getting a free stand up comedy show and fantastic drinks! If you wanna have a super fun time go in on a Saturday and chat with those guys! Also if you are visiting from California like i was, make sure to tip really well, bartenders in Idaho make 5$ an hour plus tips, vs where i am from they get 20-25$ + tips.

When I tell you I was having a pretty bad day, I am understating it. I had an awful therapy session with a new therapist who was clearly not listening to me through most of the 35 minutes I stayed. I had to walk 3 hours just to calm down enough to go for 5 minutes to Atlas. I’m not writing a review for the therapist, because I really just wanted to have something positive to say. At Atlas, Alison, bartender extraordinaire, made me a whisky sour-no, the best whisky sour I’ve ever had. I love whisky sours and I’ve had a lot of them in very different places. I have also had other drinks in places like Rome (Italy ofc), Vienna, Austria, and Naphlion & Delphi in Greece. Atlas has always been my favorite since my bougee cousin introduced me to it. Alison has proven that, in my opinion, Atlas has the best mixed I’ve had in my limited experience of the world. She was having a bad day too, that made the feat even more wonderful to me. Thank you, Atlas & Alison for making my day much better.

The Atlas Mule is one of the best drinks I've ever had!

This is a very very small bar, so it's not the best place for a big group to come. We had a group of 4 and luckily got a table but anything over that probably would work. Besides the small space they have a great staff who are very friendly and obviously very good cocktails. The strawberry fields was the perfect summery cocktail and was so refreshing. If you're looking for a dive bar, you've found the right place!
