Great food, great service, great location. Fun place with rooftop seating. Little pricey but fantastic drinks and their spinach dip is the best I have ever had.

The main reason we came in was to check out the cocktails as Boise is a bit limited in that area. We're glad we did! Open air seating available in summer. We had a few food items at happy hour and the food was quite tasty. Derick behind the bar was a great bartender and made us great cocktails. We'll definitely be back. We recommend checking out their happy hour.

Amazing service, amazing food, one of the best places in Boise. Great seating with a patio. Lovely environment!

Good food. Love the building and decor. Service was good. Went for lunch had no problem getting a table or finding parking.

kind of bummed about the turkey bacon avocado sandwich. it was sizeable, but the top was burned making it crunchy and hard to eat. the turkey was processed and salty. the sauce was flavorless. I wouldn't recommend it.

Everything is mediocre and treat employees like numbers. Inexperienced and impersonal staff due to treatment. Managers are the worst. Literally nothing good to say except food. Terrible managers make this a 1 star review. Give your employees some respect.

Love this spot! Great cocktails and the food is really good too! Visited during a torrential downpour and the covered patio was still doable! Wish the big patio had better shade...

I have hesitated writing this, but after two bad experiences, I decided that I should; a couple months ago before a Boise State football game, which I can understand they're busy. We waited 40 minutes for a beverage. I honestly think our waiter forgot to put our drink order in, but that's beside the point. Tonight - service was excellent , food was not! Calamari was basically cornmeal dusted something (calamari I guess) you couldn't taste anything but the cornmeal. The pizza was pretty good,(room temp) but the nachos were terrible. They were room temperature. They barely had any pulled pork on them or cheese, and they were drizzled with some kind of thousand island dressing sauce . I would not order any of these items ever again.

Finally gave The James a try. I've driven by this place 100+ times and always said "we still need to give that place a try". Cocktails were great. Probably my favorite old fashioned in town. My wife had some sort of gin fizz cocktail that was also very good. I got the chicken sandwich, which was probably the best I've ever had. Service was a little slow but they were at maximum capacity. Lighting was a little dim, which I enjoy. I don't need a spotlight on me while I'm having a nice dinner. We will certainly be back and have recommended our friends and family give it a try.

They have great drinks! One of their bartenders, Anthony, makes the best bloody Mary, this side of the Mississippi! The atmosphere is chill, and the service is on point!

I recently had a fantastic experience at the James! It's the perfect spot for college sports enthusiasts. The vibrant atmosphere creates an unbeatable energy, making it an ideal place to catch the game. The food is top-notch, adding to the overall enjoyment. I highly recommend it for a lively sports-watching experience! Our service was catered to our every need. Amazing!

We happened to be driving from Zion NP to Seattle on our anniversary. We selected Boise as a mid-way stop over and wanted to find somewhere a little special for dinner. We arrived late, so we also had to find somewhere with a kitchen open a little later. Based on Yelp, the James fit the bill and boy did it. We sat at the bar and were well taken care of by the team here. Delicious cocktails and yummy pizza. Thanks for a great evening, James!

The Manger is a total jerk. We were there before the BSU game and were informed that we could have bar stools at the end of table to accommodate our party of 6. While waiting for our party to show up he came over, not letting us know who he was and yanked the bar stools from me in a VERY AGGRESSIVE MANNER and proceeded to yell at me. This guy is a total D Bag. If it wasn't for the rest of the staff that is nice, I would tell people to stay away.
