The pintxos here are fantastic, I really loved the stuffed piquillo pepper and the sardine on toast. I ate like a king and spent about $30 with drinks. I love the diversity of menu items and the service was fantastic! Definitely would go here again.

Such a great venue to stop off for drinks and tapas after work! They have wonderful service, a great wine selection, and I highly recommend the charcuterie board.

We wanted to check out the Basque scene downtown and Txikiteo was the only spot open on a Sunday. It's a cool vibe and has a small menu of tapas. We weren't drinking and ordered one of everything off the menu. The tapas were pretty good but the charcuterie board didn't seem like anything special to me. My favorite was the dish with a sardine. The sandwiches were pretty good, too. As you should expect, each dish is very small. I'd recommend this place if you're looking for drinks and a light snack with a friend in a classy atmosphere, but I didn't love anything enough to go back.

Where do I begin... perhaps this story is best to start with a preemptive phone call six hours earlier asking if a reservation of four was manageable for around 830/845. The response I was given by the gentleman was they don't take reservations however the kitchen closes at 845 and they close at 9, but if you're here by 845 you will be fine. Fast forward to the party arriving at 834, upon entry to four people working behind the bar we are met with "we are serving drinks and dessert". I inquired about the kitchen and was told it was closed...and stared at as if I was inconveniencing the lady. As a Basco and fan of pintxos I was looking forward to this local...even gave a call to confirm and ensured the party arrived ahead of schedule. However, we were still met with attitude and a failure for this business to deliver. The staff was more focused on closing the kitchen and location early than serving. I cannot give my recommendation to this location, unfortunate yes, but the owners/management should take proactive steps to remedy these practices for future guests. For those future guests, good luck, I will not be one of them.

We are visiting from out of town and wanted a dog friendly, gluten free Basque restaurant that also had outdoor dining for dinner. We found all of these things, along with tables with shade, helpful staff and amazing food! Having never had Basque tapas before, the staff was helpful in explaining the cheese and meat options and they make the pickles and chutneys themselves. Very relaxing atmosphere and can't wait to go back.

Nice atmosphere at the patio! I had a Jamon sandwich and a beetroot salad. Both were delicious but very small portions for the price I paid! We had good red wine! Very friendly staff! A fair experience!

Downtown Boise has surprises around every corner and Txikteo is one I discovered on Yelp first, by accident in passing on foot second, and in my tummy third! The basque culture is well represent in this city. Honestly I didn't have time to learn the history as to why, but I am so happy to have had a chance to experience a little taste of it courtesy of this restaurant. If you're unfamiliar, basque refers to a mountainous region between Spain and France with a rich culture of Shepherding. The basque population here leans more toward the Spanish roots with many restaurants offering pinxos, or small bites often served on crusty bread, and Txikiteo has a great menu of these to sample. Each costs a few bucks, which may come across a bit pricey for what you get, but it's all about the experience. I sampled the Brie and blueberries, Spanish tortilla aka omelette, and the stunner, sardine on toast (get three and thank me later). These little bites go so well with wine and a bottle and a bunch of them will disappear before your eyes. I also tried the jamon sandwich, with imported Serrano ham, aged manchego cheese and arugula with some creamy mayo type sauce and fig mostarda. The sandwich was a bit on the sweet side and I wanted more of the cured meat and sharp cheese flavors. My main dislike about all of the food was the bread. Instead of a crusty slice of baguette, this has a soft exterior and overall texture that left me looking for that as I ate. I enjoyed my experience as takeout, but wished I could be on the patio. It's expansive and looked so chill. My wife enjoyed it though, so I'm happy at least one of us could. Another big win for this spot are the hours. Most of the basque places close early but they stay open.

My littlest love and I came here for a casual date dinner. I ordered 4 tapas for us to share and man, they were tasty - also quite tiny but priced right for the size. Of the 4 that I ordered, the tortilla (Spanish omelet) was certainly the best. So good that I got one tiny bite and my toddler devoured the rest. I also really enjoyed the piquillo pepper pepper stuffed with crab and cream cheese. I had a nice temperanillo to wash it all down. Dining with kids can sometimes be a challenge but the relaxed vibe, counter ordering, and outdoor seating made my experience quite easy and comfortable. We both enjoyed ourselves very much and brought home 2 bags of food for Michael T!

Shared a nice bottle of Malbec and a few tapas plates with my wife. Service was great and the food was tasty.Definitely not a big meal spot so I wouldn't recommend going if you're planning for that.We ate here about a year ago and a few of their sandwiches disappeared from their menu unfortunately.Still a lovely evening drinking wine and eating small bite with the wifey in a place with a good vibe and great service.

The cheese board is a must. We had every tapa, they are all perfect! I mostly loved the basque cheesecake the dulce de leche is drinkable by itself! I also can't forget the butterscotch pudding. Honestly, it's all good you can't go wrong here at Txikiteo.
