Had a great time there last Sunday. The owners are always so very nice and makes us feel like it’s home. I highly recommend this winery with a BIG five ?????

They changed owners and have a new location. It threw us off when trying to find the place because it is no longer off the highway. The staff is very nice. And the place is pretty. I was a little sad to see that the wine selection is also very different. They used to have a great selection of sweet wines but now they have only one sweet wine. It was a very good sweet wine so we got a bottle.

This place is awesome! Laid back atmosphere, they have sofas so you feel right at home! They have a good selection of wines, best red wine I’ve had called Red Shed.

We needed a distraction due to some unexpected life events happening. So on this beautiful sunny wintery day we took a drive that ended up at the tasting room of Fujishin Family Cellars. We were quickly seated and had a delightful server, Brittany. We enjoyed a tasting flight that focused on their red wines plus a Chardonnay. We are not generally white wine drinkers, but we love this Chardonnay and took two bottles home. It has a great finish, not sweet and very tasty. We enjoyed all the wines. They are each unique and delightful. During our visit while talking with Brittany we shared a bit of what was going on through conversations. The surprise was when we got home and opened the bag with our wines, we found a handwritten note from her. It was a very special touch that made our hearts smile at this trying time. We will definitely return to this lovely winery that has some incredible views and great customer service.

Wow, what happened to this place??? They laid off all of their great staff. The wonderful people that used to work there was part of the reason we went there so often. Not a good environment at all anymore. They must be going under. Too bad.

Hi, I am a 34-year-old Hispanic woman who has lived in Idaho all my life, Sunny Slope being my first home. I stopped at Free Dog Winery yesterday afternoon, 10/29/23, and was told if we were dining in for the four complementary wine tastings; we said sure (4 Hispanic women)—the lady who was wearing black eyeliner with a hair bandana seated us in the back. There was a lot of open seating. We were the second group in the winery, including two other white females who were not in our group. We sat down and were given four tokens each to use for the tastings. The servers were pleasant and polite; however, we had to get up to get the tastings. No one was serving anyone (I still don't understand the tip thing when it comes to these kinds of things). Anyways, it was time for us to leave, and we started to gather our items; this was when the lady in her late 60s with the black eyeliner and bandana approached us and told us, "ok, now it's time to thank your servers" I stated we don't have any cash and no one served us technically, but the lady wasn't understanding, we again stated we only have a credit/ debit card and we asked if they take card, she proceeded to say " no we do not" we found that odd due to buying previous times and using card only (who carries cash nowadays). We said next time, we know, and we will bring some money, and we proceeded to walk towards the door to leave; she followed us to the door, then once we were already in the car, she ran out of the winery to our vehicle while it was in reverse and yelled at us about coming and not tipping nor buying anything, we said we have credit/debit card we can pay with. Still, she said no, we don't accept cards; her approach was rude and racist because when she was at the window, she stated, "You people just come and never pay." we looked at her and said, excuse me, those were complementary. She spoke to us as if we had committed a crime and accused us of drinking large amounts of wine when the pours are just to taste and they are measured. Then she dared to ask if we work/have jobs; we said yes, we all have jobs, and all of us have degrees (from masters to Ph. D.s), but she didn't seem to care that we had jobs, just that we were "those people" it was apparent we were Hispanic we spoke Spanish in the winery because we can, I found the whole ordeal rude, disrespectful, and racists. They have lost several customers due to this behavior. My profession is behavior, and she needs help; I hope she can find someone or classes that can help with her anger. Maybe she was having a bad, I don't know, but her reaction and approach were uncalled for, and I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else.

Loved the wine. Great atmosphere.

Nice little place on wine tour stops...

Loved our experience. The wine was great & Rueben is awesome. We know where we will go every time we visit the Boise area. The dry whites will change your opinion of white wines.

I have been a member for several years. Rubin was supposed to let me know when the bourbon barrel chardonnay was low. Went today to get my order and found out they were out. No notice to let me know. The old managers would never let me down like this.

Chill, unpretentious place to try some good wine. Relaxing atmosphere and gracious hosts.
