Well this was our first time at this restaurant and I had high hopes, but as I do this review I am torn. Everything started out fine our waitress was really friendly and we placed our order and my children received their drinks quickly and figured ours weren't far behind until 15 minutes passed and our drinks were still sitting at the bar waiting to be picked up and our waitress was no where to be seen. We asked the bar tender and she told us we would have to wait for our waitress and she was zero help to the problem. Finally got the attention if another waitress and she brought them over. Then the kids food came out and I expressed to them our waitress how I was Not happy with never receiving our drinks. She said she was busy in the back and thought one of the other waiters would bring us our drinks. Umm ok? I felt a little better about the situation cause I understand if she really was busy in the back, and she also took the drinks off the bill. Well our food didn't come out until about five minutes after the kids food did and it was another waitress who brought it out. She kindly asked if we needed Anything else and we did because we never got silverware or napkins either. The food was decent not to bad but nothing I would crave to go back to after the whole experience. I ordered the chicken sandwich which I swear the menu said had spicy slaw but I never received that ‍. So needless to say the experience was not great.

Eight Thirty Common is a good go-to place for us. We prefer to go on a week night when it's not so slammed as we usually decide last minute to go out. Their food is always good! Steak salad, burgers, fries and tacos. If we would go on a weekend, we would definitely make a reservation as they are usually busy.

This place is great! I can't wait to come back. The hostesses and waitresses were all very nice and seemed very young. The ambiance is fun and trendy with a great bar area. They have TVs for sports and a flyer noting Trivia Tuesday's, which sounds like a lot of fun. The cocktails are so good I got a little jingled and frisky with my man. All were good such as the blood orange boulevardiar, blister in the sun, honey boo boo and sweet Caroline. For food we stuck with sliders and suds where you get to pick 3 beers on tap with little variety of sliders, yum yum. The crispy Brussels sprouts which weren't very good, tasted burnt. Then the truffled cheesy tots which were a comfort food delight. I can't wait to come back and try some more cocktails and bigger meals. Maybe even try the Tuesday trivia!!

Went today to try this place for the first time. We sat at the bar and ordered two cocktails off of their menu. The drinks were so syrupy sweet that we couldn't drink them. On top of this, the drink that my wife ordered was made with a lesser quality vodka than what was advertised on the menu. She ordered a drink that was suppose to have Effen Raspberry vodka (they even name the drink after Effen as well) and we watched the female bartender use Absolut Raspberry. This is not the same quality of vodka. This was enough for us as we figured the food was probably as bad as the drinks. Additionally, we figured they probably make a habit of using lesser quality ingredients just like they did at the bar. We will never go back.

Amazing food, great bar, fantastic service. It is comfortable going there by yourself as well as with a group. Yummy burgers, salmon and salads. I could eat there everyday!

Just left this place. Unsure where to start. It took around 15 minutes for anyone to ask us if we wanted to have any drinks. We were also sat in the bar area and were not given happy hour menus. When we finally got someone to acknowledge us he had to go back to get us the HH menu and barcode scanner for drinks on tap which took him two separate trips to do so and he left after we could give him our order. Servers in general looked lost and confused with orders. When my fiancée finally got his drink the server had forgotten to put in my order so I had to wait even longer. Not once did anyone check in on us and I didn't appreciate getting slapped with the bill and having to pay as this gentleman impatiently stood holding the device. Let me be clear that the place wasn't packed; no wait at all and our server not once introduced himself or was courteous to us as we patiently sat around waiting. Food was pretty good. Carnitas nachos were great. Chicken sandwich was good as well but based off of this experience and what I paid, I will not be going back.

Decided to give it a second chance.... kind of sorry we did. The $16 burger was yummy. Haven't seen our waitress since we got here other than to take our order. The cook brought our food out.... after dropping the people next to us order on the floor! Hello!! Need our check!!!! Where are you???? Anybody here???

Fantastic food choices to appease the many, tons of drinks especially for brunch time with bottomless mimosas. Everything we've had has been so good. Cute place too. Dogs allowed on patio which is a huge plus for me.

Bummed...website says Monday 11:30am-9pm, no sign on door and not answering the phone. I know staff is tough right now, but it takes one person to stick a sign on the door. I always say "if they don't care I guess I shouldn't either" so won't make plans there again :-(

I enjoyed my short lunch experience at Eight Thirty Common on 07/15/2021! Located right smack in the middle of downtown Meridian, it's fairly easy to find a parking spot despite the heavy traffic. It wasn't very busy for a Thursday afternoon so we were seated quickly, choosing to sit indoors to escape this God-awful heat. They have an awesome menu. Seriously, every single thing listed sounded tasty. I ordered the Crispy Chicken Sandwich (24-hour buttermilk brined & fried, Boar's Head baby Swiss, sweet spicy slaw, tomato, mayo, baby swiss, Bigwood Bread challah bun, $14.75) and requested it Nashville Hot (+$1.00). It was tasty! The chicken was fresh and the bread is grilled adding a very satisfying extra crunch. Sadly, it was anything but spicy. Like, zero. Save your $1.00 or request they make it extra hot because obviously their meaning of Nashville hot is poorly defined. The fries were fantastic. They are sprinkled with large salt crystals. Also the fry sauce was a huge plus! I'm sure it's house made, it didn't taste like the cheap stuff found at Walmart. All in all, I liked my lunch. It was honestly delicious, even without it being all I'd hoped for. I would definitely recommend stopping in. I'll be back to try more menu items and for that 5 star experience!

My husband and I have been here 2 times With friends and both times loved our experience and food. The customer service has always been very friendly and superb. Our favorite menu items are the chicken sandwich, Mac n cheese topped with Dorito dust and the steak salad. We also love their beer and cocktails. I do recommend making reservations they are always busy!

Crispy chicken sandwich is great however their side salad (two cucumber slices and lettuce) was extremely disappointing. Where's the cheese, onion and croutons?! Hangover bloody Mary's are good with a little mini snack size grilled cheese on top. Bottomless mimosas are all orange juice.

I have mixed feelings about this place. We went for dinner. They were out of a couple of the drinks we wanted. By the time we got our drinks they were good as was the tater tots. When our meals came the waitress got my husbands order wrong, so they had to refire that and my steak was over done. I ordered med-rare. It came med-well done. The waitress walked passed twice looking at me not eating. I finally called her over and returned the steak. Then my husbands shrimp po’boy. It was good. The manager told me that was their “med-rare”. My steak dinner was incredibly bland. After all the non sense we got a free dessert and a 10$ gift card. We’ll try it again. But I think we’ll enjoy it more for a lunch place.

Sadly we have tried this place a couple times because we love the patio area and location. But the food is honestly it for miss. One dish will be great and the other one will be almost disgusting. We did the carnitas and hash and got a tiny spoonful worth of the “carnitas” which was more pulled pork and then the bottom filled with oil we had to just stop eating it.We told them nicely like we don’t want anything but you should let the cook know it wasn’t impressive. We also ordered drinks which 25 minutes later came to tell us they couldn’t find what they needed for it and our food had already arrived. So I really waited and tried it a second time but I would honestly just come for happy hour if you are going to come. Don’t waste what is a rather expensive drinks and food to be disappointed.
