Use to love this place. Now it’s expensive and the portions are tiny. Never order the combinations they are a total rip off. You order a French dip but get no fries. You order a Prime Strawberry salad but get no chicken. These are not half portions of what you would order they are so tiny and the cost was over $20. So disgusted will never go back. They do have a great waitress.

My wife and I dined here March 2nd. Tyler the waiter was amazing! The food was in between. Some Parts were good some weren't. The calamari was tender and tasted great. I ordered the famous Jakers ribeye tip cut. I was expecting a larger amount of meat. It was probably 6oz instead of 8-10 like other cuts were, for the price. My wife ordered the Jakers chicken and the crab tasted like it was out of a freezer and the noodles were a bit bland, but the chicken was soooo good. So like I said, toss up. Hahaha

Took way too long to dine in

We went on our valentines date here and absolutely hated it. Our calamari appetizer was flavorless, our salads were drenched in crappy Caesar dressing and our entrees were sub par. Our cocktails were both terrible (not sure how you can mess up a lemon drop, but it tasted like sugar water). Super disappointing for a $130 meal. Would absolutely rather have eaten at Red Robin or anywhere else because it was just that bad.

Food was very good. However, the service was painfully slow. I think our server was working hard, but it appeared as if the restaurant was understaffed, judging by the fact that there were open tables, yet many customers seemed to be waiting a long time to be seated.

Server was great. Food was not great. My prime rib was basically a piece of fat with a little meat attached to it and it didn't have much flavor. My daughter's sirloin was about 2 inches thick and impossible to cut through. It also didn't have much flavor. She loved the baked potato though. I wouldn't go back there for steak, but I do know they have other food that is good.

I used to love the steaks at Jakers. This time, my steak was VERY rare. I ordered medium. And the baked potato was barely warm. Service was really slow. I waited about 15 minutes before they took my drink order.

We've been here several times over the years, and twice in the past month. The food is slightly better than average, but depends heavily on what dish--for example, no on the calamari (strips without much flavor, slightly overfried), yes on the cap steak (prepared as requested, and a rare find in a restaurant). A fun and robust cocktail and adult beverage menu. We last were there for a Saturday Happy Hour, and sat at a high-top in the bar area. (Just FWIW, we two had problems staying seated comfortably, and kept sliding off the seats, LOL! The bar vs table area is also a bit narrow, and we regularly "interacted" with body parts from others getting into/out of their bar chairs.) Jakers had JUST, earlier that week, converted to an electronic (tablet) ordering system. Our server warned us that he was still learning it, and we were fine with that. He worked hard to get our orders into the slightly uncooperative system. Whether because of this system, or the growing crowd, or ?, the timing of items coming to us, from drinks to apps to entrees, was longer should be. Some items were mixed up (wrong items brought to the table), delayed, or in one case, simply missed (but still on the bill). BUT, the worst of it all was the small print on the final bill. Thank goodness one of us read it closely. A new, 4% fee is added to any credit card transaction. We are told it is to support the new electronic system. Taking everything together, from "meh+" food to uneven service, to the silent 4%, we won't be back. (We do realize that more restaurants are passing along fees to diners, but simply don't think it's worth paying, at Jakers...especially if it is for a business/infrastructure improvement.)
