We got a cheeseburger, fried okra, fried pickles, and 10 wings. I felt that the price was very reasonable for the amount that we got. All of the items tasted great and were cooked to perfection! The okra was cut nicely into bite size portions and the breading was crisp. The fried pickles were an epiphany. They only breaded the cut sides of the pickle, which made it stick better and was the correct ratio of breading to pickle. The chicken wings I ordered turned out to be the entire wing, which were cooked perfectly. They were covered in a breading that must be house made because it is absolutely flawless and I have never had one like it. I don't remember the last time I had fried chicken that good. I will definitely be back several times!

Being from Texas, was excited to try this place out, Not even close, tasted more like bad camping left overs..potato salad should of been called mustard salad, straight mustard, no mayo, no spices, it was reallly aweful, cole slaw was just cabbage chooped up with no oils, seasoning, nothing...Brisket mostly sliced fatty cuts, dry, overcooked the flavor right out of it, pulled pork was extremely dry and tough, the bbq sause that came on the side was the only option I was giving, that should of been called orange sause...took 45 minutes to get that order 2 go.. that was the worst bbq place i have ever eaten, $54, $59 with tip... Save Your Time and money..Parking: Plenty of parking, no one is there to take up the spaces...

Wanted to try something new in Mountain Home. My Bf and I are both from Texas, so A aTaste of Texas off 5th ave in Mountain Home, Idaho sounded yummy, but boy were we disappointed… After a confusing menu and having to repeat ourselves when ordering, we ordered the pulled pork basket with two sides and brisket plate with two sides. We watched a guy who came 15 minutes after us get his food that was also to-go 10 minutes before us. Our food finally came 45 minutes after ordering it to-go and was warm at best and was pretty much cold after our short 5 minute drive home. The Mac n cheese came hardly cheesy and with bacon on it when we only asked for Mac n cheese as our side (not a deal breaker) and was very spicy and hardly cheesy, the potato salad was all mustard basically, coleslaw had no flavor, okra was softly battered and not crispy, the brisket was flaky but still good, and pulled pork was also good but the bbq or house sauce that it came with was not worth raving over at all. For a $40 plus meal for two we expected more. For the wait and the cost the food should have been worth it and was not. I don’t often leave bad reviews but this deserves to be called out. I do not recommend.

The food here was phenomenal. Best Brisket I've had this side of Texas for sure. Mac n Cheese was moist, mildly hot but bursting with flavor. Beans also had a mild hot as well as amazing flavor. Catfish was amazingly soft and melt in your mouth tender full of that Cajun spice flavor. Fried Okra was amazing as well.

So, I had the rib plate back when she still had the food truck, and it was absolutely amazing. Came in with my boyfriend just a bit ago, and it wasn't good. Not a big deal but, his pulled pork basket was missing. Had a piece of plastic in one of my fried pickles, and his loaded Mac and cheese with rib ends had no rib ends. Just pulled pork. I'm beyond disappointed. I was excited to eat here one more time before we move out of state, but this was just bad. Especially for $62. (Additional info to reply) The first mistake we returned to get the missing food. We noticed the Mac and cheese was wrong when he got back home. We weren't coming back to the restaurant a third time.

The ribs are out of this world! Great service, super nice and attentive. They made a special dessert of peach cobbler nachos that were amazing.

We went here for the first time and loved it. My husband said the chicken was better than Popeye's! And that's been his favorite since he was a kid!!

The catfish is my favorite. Such a perfect crunch to the thin Cajun seasoned batter. The fish was moist, but not soggy at all. I really like catfish and this might be the best I've ever had. I can't wait to have it again soon!

Went to their building by Albertsons. Mac n cheese had no flavor and was luke warm at best. Hamburger was almost ok, bun was stale and seemed old. Won’t be going back and won’t encourage anyone else to try it either.

If you want Texas B-B-Q ...don't come here ..all they had was burgers ..no bbq chicken,brisket,tri-tip ,nothing .Got burgers - buns were stale , burgers were cold - "Cajun Mac and cheese was nasty , watery, runny absolutely tasteless -- haven't tried for years since their first location .. won't be back -- if you lived in Texas ,or the south you will be highly disappointed - drinks are expensive and 100% sugar (we didn't finish those either )...spend the money and keep driving to Texas

Wow. Had the Catfish plate with collard greens and Cajun rice. The Fish was wafer thin with no flavor. The Collard greens were good. The rice was tasteless dry and lukewarm. I should've said something, but why bother. It seems this is the new normal, subpar overpriced food. 50.00 dollars for two plates. Lol.

Amazing food, Brisket is full of flavor and melts in your mouth. Ribs were very flavorful and tender. Nice smokey taste. Coleslaw is savory, not sweet. Compliments the meats perfectly. Staff are very nice and quick with the orders. Have outside dining which gave more to the overall experience.
