The prime rib is phenomenal!! Doesn't have the typical flavor! Service friendly and prompt with suggestions offered if needed. Sooo many cozy little nooks and crannies to pick from.... You feel like you're the only one there!

The Hydra never fails me. Have came many times. Oysters were huge and flavorful, Cucumber basil martini was refreshing, prime rib cooked to perfection (medium- rare). Then the carrot cake was delicious, moist, and big!Julia was prompt an attentive to me as a single diner. Which I always appreciate. Told me all the good specials. Then when I had questions about around town, she went and got a local employee to answer my questions.Clean tables, booths, and bathroom. Beautiful stained glass fixtures and accents throughout the restaurant. Easy listening classic rock makes it relaxing.

Super fun unique layout with a bunch of different nooks. Our server was wonderful, it was our daughters first Shirley Temple and she made her a beautiful one. Only reason for less star, prices! The steak salad was on the skimpy side, though good.

My NY Strip steak was way overcooked, nothing else I need to say. I asked for medium rare, I came almost well done. The cocktail I ordered, I asked to sub vodka with gin, the waitress brought me vodka cocktail hoping I’ll still take it, even though it was a mistake. She had to learn how to make that cocktail as bartender wasn’t in. It’s ok experience, certainly not worth the price.

10/10. Our server was Eric and he was stellar. Food was fantastic. Miraculously- they don’t use vegetable oil to fry in. They use local Idaho TALLOW. Definitely will be back for that reason alone! Thanks Eric!

I did not enjoy the atmosphere and the server was so rude to my daughter. We were very surprised after politely asking for a fork the response to my child. The alternate server that came out said the server was having a bad day and left. We asked for the check and left. If you are having a bad day, you don’t take it out on someone else’s child. The manager may have comped our meal, I am not sure because we left cash on the table. The rude server was standing behind her manger smirking when we left watching my 10 year old cry.

I ate here a 2 years ago for the first time, it was definitely 5 stars! Buy the second time around not so great. I would give the bloody Mary a 5 star that's Why I'm rating it 2 stars..Service was fine except I wasn't served water and had to ask, and ask for refill. Frankly the biggest disappointment for me was thier steak knives couldn't cut my hydra cut prime rib. It was like trying to cut down a tree with a butter knife.I used my wife's knife that was given to her with the same issue. I should have just brought my chainsaw to get through it..it was a real bummer because I was really looking forward to another great experience and left wot a huge to-go box to take home and cut with a actual knife sharp enough to process and make steak and eggs. It's the little things that make it great.

As soon as we got out of the car, the air was filled with the mouth-watering aroma of steak. When we entered the restaurant, we immediately noticed the sophisticated atmosphere of Hydra Steakhouse and Lounge in Sandpoint, Idaho. We were pleasantly surprised to be seated so quickly despite not having made any reservations beforehand. Before our menus arrived, the Maître D brought water, bread and presented the wine list. Our waitress, Diane, was busy with a large group at another table who kept interrupting her while she tried to take our order; I found the behavior incredibly impolite, particularly in a high-end restaurant. I had ordered the Hydra Cut Prime Rib, which came with the Chef's favorite seasoning, for $42.00. I always prefer having leftovers for breakfast or a sandwich the next day, so I feel I am getting more value for my money. My friends had ordered various other steak dinners, including the eight oz Filet mignon, which cost $47.00; they also ordered the 12 oz New York steak, which was $26.00, and the 14 oz Rib Eye, which was $41.00. The dinners came with a potato or rice pilaf, and I had chosen the baked potato. If I'm going out for dinner, I might as well indulge in some carbohydrates, too! The food tasted even better than it smelled in the parking lot. We each shared a taste of one another's steaks and then took a vote. The winner was... the Rib Eye! Diane was very attentive to our needs and kept a watchful eye on our table, ensuring that our group was happy. Despite being busy, she remained composed and never appeared frazzled. I am eagerly looking forward to returning to the Hydra to see Diane and the rest of the crew, but most of all, to order the Rib Eye.

We were promptly welcomed and seated. We were seated near a fireplace, which was toasty and inviting. I believe our waitress was Diane. She was helpful and quick. We had a couple cocktails and the shrimp appetizer- delicious! We ordered burgers & the warm Asian salad with ahi. All the meals were perfectly cooked. The food, atmosphere, and service was great. Highly recommend.

Sat next to the pellet stove, great atmosphere, food was AMAZING. Best Salmon and Ahi and Wasabi we've ever had. Bar was slow and waited a while for beverages and refills but we weren't in a hurry. Would definitely return if in the area again.
