Service was great but food was just okay. I've had much better at national barbeque chains in Lake County. Burnt ends were only decent at best, my friend had the cowboy sandwich which they said didn't really have that much flavor. The Mac and cheese, while looking great, didn't taste much like cheese. In the past I had their pulled pork, which I recall was good, can't speak for their current pulled pork though. Not many places out in far northwest chicago like this so it's passable for BBQ.

This place is crazy for charging the prices they do. Barbecue was flavorless without drowning it in sauce, mac and cheese tastes like fake cheese/ plastic and the fries were refrigerator temp cold. My partner took two bites of his tacos before sending it back and asking for the Cajun chicken instead because his food was basically inedible, and the waitress/hostess made a pretty big production of it, coming up to the table multiple times and being condescending to my partner and sister because neither could take more than a few bites of their food without losing their appetite. It's not a great sign when the only food at a BBQ place that's actually edible is the cornbread. $40 wasted on two lunch specials(with water), a muffin and a side of mac and cheese ?

Ok so this was the best barbeque I have had since visiting Oklahoma! I had the brisket sandwich and it was fantastic! Beautifully sliced and trimmed! The fried potatoes and potato salad were also quite good!
Texan Barbecue is one of those places that seem to have been there forever. I remember going here over 40 years ago, and have noticed little change. The decor is like a smokehouse from Nashville or Memphis. The food is tasty, and you have various barbecue causes to choose from.We had pulled pork and a Reuben sandwich.Prices are reasonable, and service is good.I have been here several times, and will continue in the future.Conveniently located just north of Algonquin and Main Street.

The Texan Barbecue has the best ribs I’ve ever had. The inside is rustic and sets a great western atmosphere. The staff is always friendly. I’ve been coming here since ‘09 and will continue to go; even a 45 minute drive won’t keep me away!
This place has some of the best BBQ I've had in Illinois. So good I had to go back 2 days later for more. Their brisket is nice and lean.

This place is probably my favorite restaurant in the entire state of Illinois. They have the best of the best barbecue. You will not find better barbecue in this entire state. The ribs are insanely good. They fall off the bone the minute you pick them up. The slaw is fantastic. It's not too sweet, and the texture is very good. The beans are a bit too sweet for my taste, but they're still fantastic. The only reason they don't get a five for service is because I don't like the idea of ordering and paying at the register, then seating myself in the dining room. I'd rather it be full service, but that's a lot to expect for a casual barbecue restaurant like this. The prices are a bit high, but very reasonable considering the quality and quantity of food that you're getting. I recommend the pork ribs, the pulled pork, the brisket, the burgers, and the burnt ends.

Fun setting for bbq. Food was better than expected, brisket, pulled pork, ribs. We ended up applying some of our own sauce but if you like a vinegar type sauce, this is the place for you.
