Very over priced for the smaller portions we received. That's why we won't be back, it's just not worth it. More & more people need to follow suit maybe these gougers will get the hint. We don't mind paying extra but when the portions go down too that's unfair/sneaky. The server was good.

This place has closed down in Johnsburg well over a year ago.! This place permanently closed. The other location is pretty much a dump. I feel the prices are too high, the pancakes were on the dry side, and there's nothing special about this place relative to other choices in the greater area.

After sitting vacant for a long time, a restaurant has reopened at this location in Johnsburg. It is Grandma's Kitchen and is a Mexican restaurant. On Thursday, March 14, 2024, I stopped by to see if they were open. They were and I told the associates inside that I'd come back another time to eat. Saturday, my day off, I came back and was very disappointed by my experience. The small parking lot was pretty full when I got there, which is usually a good sign. I walked in and there were no associates in the dining room, only customers. After washing my hands in the men's room (through a door that says, "Do Not Enter"), I grabbed a menu at the end of the bar and seated myself. When I decided upon my order, a male server behind the counter said that he was behind and that he'd come to my table to take my order. Another ten minutes went by when I was approached by a female. I said to her that I was glad that she came by as I was just about to leave. I ordered the taco dinner, horchata to drink, and a side of garlic bread. She brought out the horchata fairly quickly and then, after another ten minutes, the garlic bread. She told me that the rest of my order would arrive shortly. Well, it must've been another twenty minutes before the male server, who I initially spoke to, said that he'd be bringing me my food. There was a large party waiting to be checked out, and my female server was helping at the cash register. Why she didn't ask another server to bring my food out, I don't understand. When the male server came to my table, I told him that I was very angry. He apologized and eventually brought out my food, but first had to take care of other customers. When I did finally get my food, it was nothing special. I could've gotten the same thing at any other Mexican restaurant in the area. After the long wait for my food, I got up to pay. The entire bill, with tip, came to around thirty dollars. The whole experience (long wait, high prices, mediocre food) left me with the decision that I will not be visiting this establishment again. Unless they drastically change, I predict that this building will be vacant again.

Waitress was wonderful and very attentive. Food however was very overpriced and not good. This place used to be good and it’s disappointing if it’s going down hill. Ordered a side of bacon for my son and for $5.25 we got 3 slices of bacon that looked like they sat out for a week. Dry, off color and cold. Went with myself and three kids and our bill with tip was $72 for breakfast!

Had breakfast. Eggs and hash browns were extremely oily/greasy. Toast had a taste like motor oil. Service was good though.

I got a Denver omelet with American cheese,I have never had an omelette that was greasy, and I don't mean just a little grease it was dripping. The cheese was a liquidy water. The whole thing was disgusting and I had to throw it out. My daughter-in-law got the grits, she said they were bland had no flavor and the mouth feel was just grainy water, she through them out. my grandson got the chicken strips and that kid will eat anything but he wouldn't eat those , he gagged. Don't waste your money, just throw your money straight in the garage, it's where it's going to end up anyway.

Food was great, the waitress was kind however, the cook and the waitress screamed at each other the entire time we were there in front of a dining room full of customers. The name calling and swearing made for one of the most awkward and uncomfortable dining experience I’ve ever had and based on the response of the other staff, you could tell this was normal behavior.
