An absolute gem of an chef-owner restaurant. Pasquale is a genius in the kitchen, comes out time permitting to greet diners. We are partial to Eggplant Parmigian with freshest salad and out of the oven bread. A;as he has cut back on lunch except Fridays.

We dined at Joe & Giuseppe last night with our family. My wife and I had been to the original restaurant in Glenview 30+ years ago. We were told this location has been open 20+ years. It is off the beaten path but well worth it. The food was excellent and everyone at our table was very happy with their entrees (including veal, chicken, fish and pasta). Our waitress came out apologetically before our soup/salad and told us our food had just come up. She asked our preference and we said we would have the food while it was hot. She still brought soup for those who wanted it and sent us home with a big container of soup which we will enjoy today!) The most special part of the evening was the service. Our server (whose name I do not know) helped us celebrate a very special family moment in a way that helped one of my children feel joy and acceptance. I won't say more than that but, in this world where people can be cruel and demeaning, her reaction and celebration with us is one I will forever be grateful for. It was one of those genuine, unrehearsed moments that reflects who someone truly is. The chef's wife, Marge visited our table towards the end of the evening, and we found her to be very pleasant and friendly and enjoyed the conversation. We felt the same of her husband Pasquale, who also came to visit and even posed for a picture before we left. This restaurant is definitely worth the trip. It won't be the fanciest or the most expensive Italian restaurant you visit and that's the point. It's a family owned and run, down to earth, good food, warm and exceptional service kind of place. This is a restaurant that checks every box. Bravo!

This place is amazing!!!! Very welcoming. I haven’t been to Italy to really compare, however this is how I envisioned it would look.Ordered a bunch of food for the family. Something for everyone. The gentleman that took my order was on point and was able to help me get my order together. The pictures on the wall make me want to go visit Italy.

If I could give it a 3.8, that would be a more appropriate score. My husband gave it a 4, and I give it a 3. The family and I were in search of food after an appointment at O'hare airport. I found this cute little restaurant with decent reviews. It is located in a strip mall with surrounding businesses. We were greeted and seated right away. The staff was very nice. I ordered the Linguine with Calamari with red sauce, and my daughter had the white sauce. I prefer the white sauce. The red sauce was too sweet for me. My husband had the Mini Braciole. He liked it. I thought it was overly sweet. We also ordered the grilled Calamari, which had a nice char, but I recommend squeezing lemon on top for more flavor. My daughter had the fettuccine Alfredo, which she was not impressed with. Overall, it wasn't for me, but I can see how others may like it. Ingredients are fresh, and portions are large.

Food was fantastic. Had the Sicilian steak, awesome. Service was top notch. And don't get me started on the reasonable prices.

I ordered Salmon Vesuvio, it came out looking like biscuits and gravy the salmon was way overcooked, my friend ordered linguini and clams and muscles the muscles were dry and not tender as were these tiny clams. I was there one other time and it was delicious but this was an embarrassment to me because I made this date and wanted the girls to try it we were 4 not one was happy with the meal. I will try it one more time. Then if it’s not good it will be over. The coponata was deliciousThe owner came over to talk and ask how everything was but I did not have the heart to tell him I never saw Salmon Vesuvio like this the potatoes were very tiny and all in this white heavy sauce. Sorry but the bread was not homemade as one patron indicatedParking: Very easy to parkKid-friendliness: Staff was friendly however not as great as they were in November or early December so I hope the place is not getting tired. Vesuvio should resemble chicken visuvio

A neighborhood Italian restaurant in the truest sense of the word. Cozy, warm and friendly, Joe and Guiseppies has excellent traditional Italian dishes served in an inviting way. Great wine selection even though I did not try any.

I thoroughly enjoyed dining here. The food is AMAZING and very fresh. The waitresses are extremely kind and welcoming. The chef/owner came out to say hello. I enjoyed everything we had. Of the six dishes our favorites were the minestrone, lobster ravioli, and the mini braciole. We can't wait to visit again.

This restaurant has been around for years and still has the old world charm. Over the years we have eaten here several times. This time we stopped in on a late Saturday afternoon and only a few tables were occupied., but several filled up in a few minutes. There was only one waitress , and while she tried to do her best, service was not great. We immediately were served hot bread, so delicious. Entrees include soup or salad, we opted for the salads. I had eggplant parmesan with a side of pasta. My husband had the shrimp pasta. The portions were large, we had leftovers to take home. The owner stopped by to see how everything was. Overall, a cozy place for great Italian food.
